Yep, Land of Rape and Honey is being re-released. From the label “Wounded Bird Records”.
will it differ from the original release?
tracklist looks the same.
The Land Of Milk And Honey
LOL!!
They’re on the “Coming Soon” list (as in “more re-issues”), so maybe a Mind re-release as well? How do they do this? Some kind of licensing deal with the original labels? Remember when Wax Trax would re-release 242 records that were actually on RRE and PIAS…same thing, right?

My first thought was that it was a bootleg label but it looks more like they just liscense crap from the majors for reissue that they don’t care about anymore. Interesting idea for a label.
this is not a bootleg. the tracks are original.warners owns those master tapes .
for anyone who wants a new copy (CD) that’s the way to go.
as afra said, wounded bird does this kind of thing(and they get permission from the labels).[reply]
Do Al or Paul get anything from this, or does it go in Warner’s pocket?
unless the band’s in the hole with warners, the songwriters will get mechanical royalties on each copy sold. bill rieflin’s in that mix as well, if i recall.
this is pretty standard in the so called “secondary market”.[reply]
since i don’t live in the US and all that, can anyone explain why the label has the rights to the material, how does all that scheme works? how is it that half of the beatles catalogue is owned by michael jackson and sony? etc. thanks.
more importantly… does re-issue simply mean that, or does it also imply re-MASTERED.
i have a feeling it won’t. the whole thing seems like a rather dodgy way for a two-bit record company to make a bit of dosh.
this is not a remastering.
I’ve been screaming for a 20th Anniversary pressing for awhile, so I won’t pick up with that again. That would be the remastered (5.1 mix) gold pressing with the 15 bonus tracks, Rykodisc style.
I can dream. In the meantime, I’m glad the album will be available in stores again, at the very least. I haven’t seen a new copy of LoRaH in the stores probably since the longbox days…good Lord, remember those? [laugh]
fuck rykodisc.
i have french pressing of lorah and i’m happy so i won’t bother with this one.
although you gotta give 'em credit since that label’s focus is on preserving original material order and original artwork, which ryko did none to the dreaded revco ‘remasters’.

Its funny, because I DONT remember the longbox days, (too young), however I DO have LORAH and Twitch still sealed in longboxes, [laugh]. I was spun out when I found them, “longbox… wtf is that?”

Whats the banned name for Green Jello? I have the “soundtrack to cereal killer” I think its called… whatever the one with 3 little pigs on it is, i love call of the cthulu or whatever its called, that song cracks me up
Oh wait, do you mean it says Green Jelly instead of Jello?
Oh wait, do you mean it says Green Jelly instead of Jello?
No it says “Green Jello” instead of Green Jelly. The CD was originally Green Jello and the Jello Corporation made them change it because it was copyright infringement. so all of the Green Jello CD’s, Tapes, Vinyls were yanked off of the shelves and replaced with copies that read Green Jelly Instead.
I have one still in the Banned Long Box With the Banned name, Green Jello
