This is from a zine called Terra X, issue # 3, September 1993. Feel free to add it to the interviews section of the Prongs site.
awesome, thanks for sharing man.
Paul is such a no-nonsense guy, makes for a great read. I like the baby picture analogy. Thanks for posting this one, very cool.

Sounds like he was in a foul mood when he did that interview.
The Skinny Puppy gossip is interesting. I wonder what Cevin and Ogre think about Rabies 20 years on?
hey now.
where’s al? i’ve seen this one before.there is a long period of on and mostly off with al and interviews. (he left that menial task to “his” bass player. funny how shit comes back to bite you in the ass)

paul is OUR bass player. ha. shit, ok i got off early today and i’m drunk. g’night boys. ha.
This is pretty cool. Paul does seem a little more on edge in this one, but what the hell, right? Interesting story on “Grace,” though. Definitely one of my faves off Psalm, and it’s cool that the actual song was cathartic as the title would imply.
Excellent stuff.
What’s with all the drama about “Rabies,” though?

At the time there was a lot of drama most of it played out in interviews. MTV reported that Puppy was over with, and that Ogre had jumped ship to join Ministry and Revco.
The Pups weren’t happy how Rabies turned out, ie Ogre thought his contributions were shit, the cover wasn’t all that great compared to SRG’s other works, and dolby noise reduction was put over the whole album!! Cevin Key stated in some interviews that in his mind Al’s whole purpose in doing the record was to somehow break up Puppy, Ministry’s main competition. Basically a lot of accusations and name calling went back and forth for awhile. Like Al and Ogre had Welt then all of a sudden Key and Goettel had Hilt that sort of thing.
It all seemed to work out in the end though lots of side projects got done, and although it took a long time Al and Cevin finally made up on the Greater Wrong of the Right Tour when he came onstage in New York and played guitar on Tin Omen.
And to think that this album gave us Worlock arguably the most popular SP song ever.
I always liked Rabies. ViVisectVI on the other hand only sounds good on coke.
But it’s crazy Paul didn’t like Last Rights.
paul barker doesn’t like gossip. lee popa doesn’t like gossip. i don’t like gossip. mikey doesn’t like gossip.down the line, folks.
let’s see…hmm. what’s the common trait here? oh yeah. ding ding ding. sobriety.
That’s crazy, never thought barker had it in him. And with Rabies, I think puppy appreciate it. If they didn’t, why did they play play songs from it on their last tour. Like three or so, right? I think it is ministry-ish, but it obvious because Al was on it. Not a bad album, but prolly my least favorite. Too Dark Park on the other hand…nice!
Compare this conversation to the interview al just put up on the ministry myspace blog… it’s like apples and oranges
love the it’s not about being on barbituates 24 hours a day comment. paul’s really got a good head on his shoulders about alot of things.

Rabies was a great record. It’s the only Skinny Puppy album I liked actually…I thought their other stuff was crap.
I love VIVISectVI and have never done coke.
Haha, I was only half serious. I think its decent cd but compared to their other records its second to last. I guess since it was the last in their catalog i had to buy i expected more. there was so much hype behind it i just thought that i would be as blown away with it as i was with cleans, fold and manipulate. sorry for the fuck ups im totally drunk. whatever.

REALLY now? That actually surprises me.
That’s certainly not something you hear every day. Remission will probaboy always be my top one followed by VivisectVi.
of all the puppy albums that i have and listen to are rabies and doomsday5 (live one)
others i checked out, didn’t dig 'em too much
so i’m in the minority too on that subject, i guess
Rabies is my favorite.
Like Paul, I’m not a huge fan of Last Rites.
Last Rites.
Started with that album and found it more of “scary story” mood music… Didn’t really care for it either! I like too dark park probably the best vivisect is not bad.
Late,

Wait a second… Al came on stage during the that tour with Puppy? Pictures?! Videos?!
