I have noticed that some time in the past few days the link to this site from www.ministyrmusic.org has dissapeared. I usually entered this site from the aforementioned site so I was wondering as to why this happened. On a side note that live version of Eureka Pile is excellent. Always loved the song but the live version really sounds good, especially since that I am led to believe the sound quality and perfromance on Clitour 1999 was not that good (though I did not see them on this tour, my brother did)
Eureka Pile is a good song! Al’s non-distorted vocals at the begining of the track probably should have been on the studio album, and the saxophone really complements the song. Didn’t Max Brody play sax? This might have been when Rey Washam rejoined for a short while after taking over for Tia Sprocket on tour.

That version of “Eureka Pile” was Al, Paul, Louis, Rey, and Max in 1999. The tour you’re referring to was 2003.

Thanks for beating me to the punch, Rev. I was gonna mention the whole sobriety thing myself…although, really, the fucker’s still downing gallons of wine a day, and I’m 99% sure he’s smoking weed now (If he didn’t before, anyway). So, yeah, maybe not so sober, but it’s still better than the hard stuff, and I’m 100% sure of that!
Anyway, I don’t know much about Mrs. Jay. I think she’s adorable, but that doesn’t mean much. Since I almost NEVER check the Piss Army forums, I really haven’t heard her speak for herself aside from the whole “The next one is great!” and “Well, he needs to buy a proper copy and listen to it on a proper stereo!” blab. Which, honestly, should be expected from a supportive partner, whether she believes it or not.
All I know is that she has been good for Al in general, and that’s cool with me. Certainly nothing Yoko about that.

Mrsjay does post alot and usaully is very straight forward. Al says he’s not really into computers so it would make sense of her presence online.

I read a recent interview with Al in a 'zine where he said he was definitely not sober, but was completely drug free. I know sometimes people conveniently forget to include pot when they say that about themselves, though.

mrsjay has been nicer to me than anyone else connected with a band, period. al’s music seems to have changed a bit in the past few years, but i’m not so sure mrsjay is the cause. al doesn’t seem liek the kind of guy to take much suggestions when it comes to doing things his way.
she seems to be supportive of al, whatever he’s doing. she’s also married to the man, so you have to expect some bias.
As for the weed thing, it’s just a hunch. I live in Kentucky (where marijuana is the #1 cash crop), and my ex-wife works at Jillians corporate office, so I got passes to the last show of the 2004 tour. During all the breaks of the concert, the band would go just offstage, and there was no doubt that at least half the band was getting high - this club is about the size of your bedroom, and I had a great view leading offstage. I don’t know that Al was involved, except that everytime he came back onto the stage, he’d mime hitting a joint and cackle hysterically. Maybe he was just making fun of the other band members, but he did make a comment before JBMHR that he wanted to thank the citizens of “the Commonwealth of Kentucky for growing the killer green.” Again, just a guess, but come on!
I really would like a copy of that show, if there’s one floating around. This was only one or two days after Dimebag Darrell had been killed, and Al was PISSED OFF. He said something to the effect that Dimebag would live forever, while his shooter was already fucking dead. I think the dude offed himself or something soon after - I don’t really know the facts of the story. But this was before that, and Al was in a killing mood! Good show.
Anyway, I don’t much care if he’s smoking weed or not. We had a really interesting discussion here awhile ago, wherein I was “schooled” on the seemingly random yet harsh side effects of marijuana…since this still has yet to happen to me, or anyone I know, I still can’t quite bring myself to consider marijuana a dangerous drug…or even a drug at all, for that matter. Not that I’m actively smoking at the moment - it’s been a few months, but I know that I will again at some point. There’s that bit in the Bible about God giving unto man all the seed bearing plants to care for and do with as he will…if it’s sanctioned by God, I can’t argue with that!
I’d SO MUCH rather have Al the pothead than Al the junkie! Those people are fucking BORING.
