Linger Fickin' Good - Vocals

With the new tour happening I pulled out this old album. I enjoyed it. In fact, I listened to it twice. While listening (and after hearing) I walked away realizing something I hadn’t noticed in quite some time… Chris Connelly’s vocals are dead fucking on on this album. Probably some of his better work (sans “In the Neck”) which IMO IS his best performace with the cocks.

I only have one revco release on CD which is the Physical single, I have almost everything else on LP, so I don’t listen to it all that often, mainly because my turntable doesnt click off when it reaches the end of a side and makes a god awful noise when the pickup hits the label, but anyway, when I do listen to these albums, LFG in particular, it is awesome. Hmmm… making me want to give it a spin when I get home now! I’ll have to check the creds, I can’t remember which songs chris sings on.

I havn’t heard much else of CC, I have an acoustic bootleg which is pretty cool, aside from that… the couple of songs on the black box cd’s, and a Murder Inc. single I have, Corpsucle I think, which didn’t impress me very much at all. Havnt listened to that in a long time though. Any recommendations?

He’s got a double-disc greatest hits which contains examples of most of the bands he’s sung for (Ministry and KMFDM are absent), but I like Phenobarb Bambalam.
Lots of people hate his solo stuff because he doesn’t sound anything like he does in the industrial projects, but if you keep an open mind there’s some pretty good songs to be found.

I know I’m in the minority, but I’m rather fond of the “CC” that I’ve heard…it’s true, it IS hard to reconcile his actual singing voice with the wailing heard on Revco/Ministry/KMFDM, but I rather like it.
To be honest, I think a lot of that solo work is Chris trying to be weird on purpose…have any of you heard his tune “A Mutual Friend”? That is just…holy crap, like, WEIRD.
I dig it!

i dont like a whole lot of chris’ solo shiz (phenobarb bambalam had some cool shit though, like ignition times four and others), but i thought “Initials CC” was fucking brilliant. Really shows some of his better work with other bands and his solo stuff minus yeah Ministry and KMFDM shiz. Haha yeah Mutual Friend is definitely one of his weirder experimental stuff, along with Ignore The Noise. BTW what KMFDM songs off of Attak does he sing on? What songs off LFG doesnt he sing on (aside from the obvious Linger Ficken Good song at the end)?

connelly obviously doesn’t sing on gila copter (both versions).

since vox in rockabye and in sergio are really distorted it may be luc though it actually sounds like connelly and in the videos there are no luc van acker BUT he’s credited.

so what did van acker do on LFG???

I don’t think Van Acker did anything on LFG, but they gave him a credit anyway. I believe Connelly does all the vocals except “Gila Copter”, the title track, and the rap in “Crackin’ Up”.
As for KMFDM, he didn’t do any vocals on Attak. He did a lot of songs on Xtort.

monsieur al jourgensen. good shit, they should tour with wu-tang clan and nwa sometime.

Linger ficken good is fantastic. “This is porno for your mind, porno for your crotch.”

oh. then what songs did he sing on xtort???

A quick google search tells me it’s “Rules,” “Craze,” “Blame,” and “Ikons.”
Don’t blame me if that’s wrong though - Xtort is far from my favorite KMFDM album.
