Yeah I know. But they are just completely out of place for the Psalm 69 album and really I can’t find a melody line a rhythm section or anything So I was totally put off by it. If they were on Halloween party or someother experimental type record I’d probably be ok with them BUT really I just don’t dig on it.
Brick Windows is slightly different I just think the song is too bright for the album. I think Paisly would’ve been a better choice to end the album and use Brick Windows as a B side. I don’t know I guess I just don’t like them cause they don’t flow with the rest of the album. I’m actually shocked to see how many people don’t like, “What About Us?” I think that song is great and would’ve fit Nicely On TMIATTTT specifically in the Spot that “TEST” occupies.

What the fuck is up with all the hate for “What About Us?” ? That song is fucking awesome (despite the Ty Coon rant during the bridge). In fact, it’s the only song she appears on that isn’t brought down by her vocal contribution. It totally would have fit in on Animositisomina or Dark Side of the Spoon.
That being said, I’d have to say either “Test” or “Grace” (because of that annoying fucking Jean Luc Picard Star Trek bullshit sample that repeats OVER AND OVER and makes the piece sound so dated and over the top).
I won’t list any of the pre-or-post Barker material because most of it is complete shit and it would be too difficult to choose which I hate most.

What About Us was the beginning of the end for Ministry. Pedestrian and with crap lyrics to boot, this should have been a sign (written in letters two kilometres high) for Al and Paul to go their seperate ways and put the band to sleep.
What About Us sounds like Burning Inside re-written for the Korn generation.

Because I really like the whole “Dark Side” era, I really like “What About Us?” I saw A.I. quite some time after I listened to “…the Spoon,” and I remember my total shock at learning that Ty Coon was, in fact, a WOMAN.
what about us was pretty awful.
cold life? pretty awful, in a fake english way.
halloween remains the bop bop song.
get thee to a commercial please, with that one.
all else , i can live with (except for the last two records)
I can undertstand that. I LOVE the whole white-boy funk feel of it, though the lyrics are pretty goddamned atrocious…
“I’d rather live in outer space
Where death goes at a slower pace”
LOVE the Dub mix, but the original is kinda weak.
Are you Citizen Vex (or a member thereof)? If so, I REALLY appreciate your stuff. Been a fan for well over six months… “Decadence” remains my favorite track of yours. Really hits close to home, for obvious reasons.
Lot of hatred for that song here, but to me that’s the track that gave me some hope that there might be life in Ministry after the dismal DSotS.
As for the lyrics, it helps to remember that they were written from the point of view of the characters Ministry played in A.I.
Cold Life
Work For Love
Test
Dead Guy
Bad Blood
What About Us (the worst Ministry song outside the Bush trilogy)
Stolen (the second worst…)
No W
Waiting
Gang Green
Lies Lies Lies
Dick Song
Death And Destruction
Roadhouse Blues
Life Is Good
End Of Days Pt I & II
Last Sucker
Cannot CANNOT stand Bad Blood - dunno why, there’s just something about it. One of those things. Same goes for Lies, Lies, Lies.
The first time I downloaded and listened to ‘End Of Days Pts I & II’, I sat there in stunned silence for about a minute after the tracks had finished and then burst out laughing.
And to think there were people on this board who liked the damn thing. The whole time I’m listening I’m thinking…‘you’ve gotta be kidding…this ISN’T Ministry. This ISN’T the band who released Rape And Honey. THIS is how it all ends!!! The LAST ever Ministry track on the last EVER album is…THIS!!’
And the PA seem to think it’s the greatest thing since chocolate milk!

Must be just you then.[/reply]
Kidding?
End Of Days is dire.
Pretty much sums up everything that is wrong with nu-Ministry.
i think end of days I and II are pretty good tracks.
sue me.
I’ll take some of that action too! I think probably II is one of, if not, THE best track on the CD. I think Eisenhower’s Farewell address Cinches it! I love hearing that Our leaders used to be Eloquent. I can listen to Eisenhower Over and Over again.
