Does anyone have mp3’s of this unreleased ep. Lead Into Gold Slow and Low. There were definitely test pressings so I’m a little surprised nothing has leaked all these years. Youtube search found nothing.
There were only 1 or 2 test pressings. It’s not like the other Wax Trax stuff that had 1000+ test pressings sent out. Paul had planned to release it a couple times, but doesn’t seem to be interested in it now. You’ll hear some of it soon though. More to come later.
White castle fries only come in one size.

Is Mr Barker going to be putting unreleased tracks?

you all should be nicer to that woman. She knows of the barker love on the forum but she also knows people have zero tolerance for her. she could have the tall one not give us anything out of the back catalog out of spite… you never know.

Would be curious to hear Slow and Low. Anyone know why it wasn’t released?
Isn’t it called Low and Slow?

Eh? I never mentioned her.
Mr. Barker is a woman?!?

No, he’s shown no interest in years. I don’t think he’s really interested in releasing anything anymore. The last full album he did other than the Fix one was with no promotion without a label. Without this site, I don’t think I would have even known about it. Sad because his work is still as good as it ever was.

From a scan of the only known test pressing from the collection of noone in particular

That is a real shame. I thought Flowering Blight was an absolutely immense project, i was blown away by it. For me it was an indication of how Ministry could have gone if they’d pursued the style of The Dark Side of The Spoon era. I loved it and was hoping for more. Wasn’t overly fond of the Fix This! cd, but it’s sad indeed if we don’t hear more from him. He’s a hugely talented dude and i enjoy his music a lot.
ummm… he is releasing new material… he’s doing tracks with Mr. Connelly.
I think we had a thread on this already…

This is a team effort. It’s possible Barker is playing bass and isn’t involved in the production. I’ve only listened to the demos so far and haven’t bothered to listen for your normal Barker-isms. I think what Bisquitodoom was getting at is Paul helming more full-on solo projects. Flowering Blight could have been a moderate success if he’d chosen an indie that handled the distribution and marketing side that would have spread the word about a very good album. When was that, 2007 already? It’s not like he’s ever been short of ‘name’ friends and credibility. Ipecac would have been obvious.
Maybe he really DOES suck at running the behind the scenes band stuff.

How the fuck did i forget that?! I’ve been listening to it as well, a lot of it’s great stuff.
ugh.

exactly, about the dark side feel. As much as I like flowering blight I think it could’ve used a little Al influence. and all of Al’s albums need more than just some Paul influence.
Also, I think Gunnar is the only one who has a full on hate for gerda.
I looked forward to gerda’s posts when she was special ed. but she did start posting some bizarre things when she came back as Gerda. I never made fun of her but I could understand why some would lose patience with her.

Lead Into Gold- great moments, too much filler
Flowering Blight- a lot more consistent, but some filler again
FIX Album- great moments again, and again, too much filler. The song with Ogre is fucking great but some of the songs toward the end are meh.
