Last Sucker Vinyl

How long have you been collecting? How much stuff have you collected? What’s your prized piece?

I got into Ministry shortly after Filth Pig came out. I think by 2000 I had all of the albums on CD, and bought the new ones as they came out.

I had some of the vinyls and cassettes, but didn’t start really collecting them until a few years ago. I have a few prized possessions…I have a few CDs that Paul autographed for me, and the second pressing of I’m Falling that is signed by Jourgensen, Roberts, Davis and George.

I have a ton of stuff, but I’ve mostly been focusing on the 80s material.

I’ve actually started a photo album that I’m going to post in the collector’s section, but have been a little short on time these past few months. Here is my 1981-1984 vinyls. https://plus.google.com/photos/115436242005895817596/albums/5797947923293095233?authkey=CK7DsJy0062j8AE

Excellent.

I started with getting (or trying to get) all of the pressed bootlegs I’m like 1 or 2 shy right now and I’ve never seen them offered for sale anywhere so I’m seriously doubting they exist at this point on anything other than CDRs and MP3s.

other than these 2 boots I pretty much have every type of release (not counting cassette tapes) from Mind forward, singles, import singles, Vinyl singles, promos singles, 3" singles, Promo albums, albums, import albums, Etc Etc. My Ministry and various Jourgensen project cd collection is well over 150 CDs at this point

I’ve got quite a few early 80’s vinyls but I’m mostly focused on everything from the Mind forward.

You gonna admit the Lee Popa bootleg is King!

It sounded like a legit release. wonder how it was recorded… sucked that So What wasn’t on it though.

It’s got the Soulfood distributor label on it. Soul food is a legit distributor of Ministry… What do you mean angie was slow to move on bootlegs? Like send cease and dissist emails or shutting down torrents or what?

Means nothing, if it’s a bootleg they could write an extented bio in the liner notes that say Al fucks stray cats and they could get away with it. Tons of bootlegs out there that were released from “legitimate” labels, Warner, Elektra etc

Angie was just slow period when it came to anything that could make Al money, I remember when bisquitodoom and I bought Twitched unsure if it was legit and she never even found out about it until like a week or two after fans nabbed it, ironic seeing as how she became “manager” a year or so later.

Anyways…Anyone remember when record stores used to put out “imported” releases at the time? Coconuts used to do it often, sooo many Nirvana bootlegs at the time…

Thanks! It sounds like we have opposite collections
I went ahead and updated my collection and added the vinyl photos in the “Collectors?” thread under the merchandise section. Any interest in helping me build a “Collectors guide” thread? Between the two us, we may have a pretty comprehensive collection. Plus, it would give me a chance to brush up on my photography skills

Well, they have the soulfood label on it but yeah you’re right that could be booted too. the actual vinyl company is called “Night Of The Vinyl Dead Records.” I’ve never heard of them but this apparently their 145th release (unless that’s bullshit bootleg too)

Depended on the store some called them “bootlegs” some called them “shows,” some called the “imports” as (you mentioned) most commonly (where I am from) they were called “CDs under glass” cause they were kept under the glass counter at the front like they were jewelry.

Sure, what did you have in mind? maybe Afra or Bisquitodoom could set up a page that features the actual releases rather than just the info. I’ve been after Bisquitodoom for several years now to provide thumbnails for the Bootleg sections page.

Whatever you and I don’t have I’m sure Bisquitodoom could fill in. I’m sure his collection puts ours (combined) to shame!

I was thinking of a thread that showed at least the front cover of each release, along with info and a track listing. Since there is more than 30 years of releases, we could split it up a number of ways. We could split the threads up by decade or era, or even by format.

It would be awesome if Afra and Bisquit could create stickies so they show at the top in the merchandise section and they can add whatever releases we missed/don’t have.

I’d be ok with any of that. This is probably gonna take several months worth of scanning CD inserts! But I’m up for the challenge.

If you want to handle the CDs, I can handle the vinyl and cassettes. I can scan the 7"s and cassettes, but I may have to take actual pictures of the LPs/12"s.
