Last good Ministry concert

Ministry live at Graspop 2008

Ministry live at Graspop 2008

I remember that concert well. It jammed. And Al played the white coofin guitar. Man, it was full blooded!!

I’ve seen Ministry about 15 times.
While there have been some gigs that stand out more than others, and one that I thought was weakest of all (circa 2006 for Rio Grande Blood), Ministry is consistently great.

I criticize their tours often because Al will be a mess or because they played the same setlist for 10 years straight . . . and for lots of other reasons. But they’re always great live, as far as I’m concerned.

So, for me . . . . LAST good Ministry concert was the last one I saw . . . May 26, 2016 at Las Vegas.

For me, probably the last show of the Mind tour. That was a great tour, and they played a good mix of material, including covers and side projects.

The Psalm 69 and Filth Pig tours were good, but the live material didn’t really rival the albums, like how they always managed to do with their earlier tours.

Since, the setlists have become so repetitive that you know what to expect. The band has a great back catalog with different styles of music, but they rarely acknowledge it.

Like Gunnar, I have fun no matter what. I also complain about the set list, but I always enjoy their shows.

Chicago Open Air, July 2016. They dusted off “Stigmata” for me. Excellent.

Well maybe I’m biased, because I filmed it but - Atlanta 2003 [laugh]

it is on Youtube
