speaking of las vegas, would be hilarious for the cocks to resurrect nudes on ice, seeing as there is that infamous photo of everyone with their pants down.
Watched some shows, ate a bunch of good meals, gambled my ass off, drank a million bloody marys and at 4 million olives, had a bunch of laughs, and won enough to completely pay for the trip (my room and in-hotel meals was already comped, but I’m up about $500 now which covers any of the meals and shopping we did outside the hotel.

Up 5 snaps, huh? Not a bad bit of hustlin’!
Good job. Just curious how much were you up at the most and how much were you down at the most?

The furthest down I got on this trip was down $400. That was early Saturday AM, because I left my house with $400 and I had to hit the ATM to pull out another $500. I was going to just play a $100 to see if I could get something back, that way I’d still have something for the rest of the day to take care of my wife.
Well, I sat at the 3-Card poker table and that $100 started me on a wicked hot streak, hitting all kinds of bonuses. I left that table and cashed in about $700 chips and then hit some good luck at Spanish 21 and some decent jackpots on slots. Went back to the room with $1800.
Lowest point = down $400
Highest point = Up $900
Final for end of trip = Up $500
Just got back from a last minute stay in Vegas.
it was cool to be able to legally drink, and finally gamble out there. The food [vegan] wassome of the best I’ve had.
Broke even, but managed to profit some spare change. Something’s something.
hey Gunnar,
you go to Vegas a lot. have you ever seen anyone win one of those cars that are on top of the bank of slot machines?

No, I’ve never seen it happen. But I was on an online discussion board a while back with that topic and there were a few people that witnessed it and at least one that had won one.
My wife often gets drawn to them which cracks me up because I’ll ask her, “What do you want this stupid red Crossfire for anyway?” and she’ll say (unless it’s a nice Beemer or something) “But I could sell it!” Yeah, sounds like work to me, I’d rather just get a cash jackpot.
From what I’ve read, you do, in fact, win the actual car up on top of the machine banks. You gotta pay taxes and delivery charges and such, but yeah, you win a car (if you win).

you can’t get the cash equivalence of the car?

I don’t remember the specifics, but I don’t think you can get the “cash equivalent”. The car is already paid for (they partner with brands for sweetheart deals as it’s a win-win for both parties — cheap buy for the casino and advertising for the car company) and it doesn’t really benefit the casino to give a cash payout unless the winner takes a much less value. Unless it’s a really pimped out hot-ass performance sports car or mega-luxury car (i.e. Ferrari, Bentley, whatever) the casino needs to get that thing off. I mean, no one really wants to be feeding in dollar after dollar to win a 2008 PT Cruiser, ya dig?
I don’t know what the trade off is, but just for sake of demo, let’s say on a $40,000.00 car you’ll be lucky to get $20,000.00 at best and you will probably still be on the line for some taxes.
Here’s a good way to confront your fear of heights . . .

The best food in Vegas is at Vintner’s Grill. It’s a drive, but well worth it.
The Cosmo is a super nice hotel, but skip Jaleo and go to Firefly.

I’ve not eaten at Jaleo. I’m a HUGE Cosmo fan, but their restaurants, for me, have been a bit hit and miss.
Firefly ALWAYS works for me (I’ve eaten there as many as 5 times in one trip).
We also tried Holstein at the Cosmo.
The hummus/avocado chip dip is delicious. The hot wings were good too.
Holsteins pissed me off. I went there around Midnight and wanted a milkshake. They told me, “I don’t think we can get you a shake because the chef is gone.” GONE??? It’s a friggin’ milkshake not beef Wellington. Milk plus ice cream plus blender plus friggin’ glass equals damn milkshake!!!
I convinced them to at least bring me a couple scoops of ice cream and chocolate sauce. I also ordered the Lobster Mac and Cheese (overrated).
And then we got in trouble for trying to smoke. It all went downhill from there.
I gotta run, but I’ll be back to give the run down on all the Cosmo restaurants I ate at . . . .
Firefly’s food is tastier and more cost effective than Jaleo.
(The duck rolls alone are so freakin good, I order them every time we go in there.)
I found out on this trip that they have two additional Firefly locations in the city, but we did not check them out this time. Apparently, there are a couple different menu items in addition to the regular menu items depending on the location.
We also went to Hash House a Go Go at IP. It was ok.
I was in Vegas last month.
I didn’t like it much.
