jizzwad aka stupidweed aka cuddlebug was the instigator who slashed Ministry’s tour bus tire(s) at their Columbus, OH stop in 2003
Why did he do that? No Stigmata?
He did it for the sake of mankind. He was trying to prevent the rest of the albums from being made.
Pretty sure he did it for the lulz

I know as much as anyone would care to admit, but there’s a lot of coincidences.
I don’t know where or what, BTW.

Like what? just the bus thing? how do you know that?

Like what?
Damn the crypticness of this board sometimes!!!
I’m completely tortured

Gerda was Jizzwad?
Gerda was Jizzwad?
[laugh]
gerda: I’m sure you know the identity of idreamoftiger or whatever that name was. seemed like someone close to Paul. who? we don’t know (some of us don’t anyway, I being one of them)
anyway, it took me about 5 days to read this entire thread! but it’s been an interesting discussion. I’ve been to Vegas twice…I was I think 15 the first time, and I went last year when I was 24. I used to feel very much exactly how smrf felt. The lonilness of the people, gambling being a waste of time/money, the plasticness of the whole city.
I don’t gamble. Last May was the first time I gambled in my entire life, and it was for a mere 20 minutes at a money wheel. Had no idea what I was doing, but started out with $40 and ended up with $200. I thought, “eh, cool, but let’s not get hooked on it” and stopped. I can see how it can become addicting. When I was in Vegas in September, I played one game of the money wheel, lost, and said, “eh, I can’t afford to waste money with the hope of it coming back to me like it did last time” . So I stopped.
As someone said, different strokes for different folks. I view the whole thing differently now than I did a few months ago or a few years ago. I don’t have a problem with the atmosphere like I used to. I also don’t embrace it. I merely exist in it. Those that are enjoying themselves getting shitfaced and gambling, good. It’s their choice. Those that are lonely, sitting at those poker tables, that is their choice to be that way as well.
There’s a part of me that, for one or two nights, wouldn’t mind going crazy there, picking up a girl (not a street walker) and bringing her to my room. there’s also a part of me that wants nothing to do with Las Vegas. I think it’s great to feel both…almost like the yin and yang in a way.
Last time we were there, it was for about 5 days. The first day, our driver told us a story about a man killing his wife in a parking lot because she wouldn’t give him more money to gamble after he pissed it all away. it was very sad to hear that. but that story was also a test. Hearing that the first day, how would I react to the experience the rest of the trip? Would it just bring a cloud of negativity upon my outlook? I could have, but I didn’t.
It’s all part of this culture that goes beyond Vegas, race, religions, etc. Just humans. There’s a side of us that may be intrigued, even embrace that lifestyle. There’s a side of us that knows when enough is enough as well (some of us at least, that man who killed his life may not have been)
One of the days when we were out there, we went to the Red Rock Canyon. THAT is where I felt most entertained, happiest. I loved every second of that Canyon. Sitting on top of a canyon, not hearing anything, a slight breeze, and no one around for miles…to me, that was the most entertaining part of the trip. Just connecting with myself, disconnecting from everything else.
Next time I go there, whenever that may be, I plan to go to the Canyon for 4 days, and Vegas for one day. It’s just my preference. Some may say that is a lonely thing to do, or stupid. But at the end of the day, I’m satisfied, and it’s my choice to be so. The craziness of Vegas must exist for me to appreciate the canyon even more. And in another person’s perceptive, the boringness of a canyon is needed for them to appreciate Vegas even more.
Very eloquently said sould driver. Damn, its about time we had some eloquentness around here!

The canyon sounds great! I’ve been doing a lot of camping lately with my girl, we did Death Valley and Joshua Tree and are trying to plan a future trip as well. That to me is a good vacation! I love living in the heart of the city but living here also makes it so I need to unplug, those are my favorite vacations.

I can somewhat relate. Since I am within close proximity to several very popular tourist destinations for children and their parents, I have to escape to elsewhere to unwind. The bad part about flying back here after a vacation is that the plane is always jam packed full and has way too many screaming children.

Ouch. I can imagine all too vividly.

I have been tempted several times to stay on vacation permanently.
Additionally, I have witnessed several young adults who think they are entitled throw tantrums/try to start fights on planes also.
green: I know exactly what you mean. I live 10 minutes outside of NYC so to get away from the chaos and go to a canyon, it feels great. Red Rock is a must. As the name implies the color of some of these canyons are a really unique red color. At times, it feels like you’re on Mars! Death Valley sounds tough, only because of all the stories you hear about it. But I’m with you on how you feel.
I wonder if those that live in the mountains yearn for trips to cities like we do with nature? It’s possible.
Vegas, Baby! Vegas!
New adventures await in Sin City!
Vegas, Baby! Vegas!!
TRENT “120! your up twenty nice, baby. Well, not counting what happened on the first hand.”
MIKE " Yeah, thanks for clarifying! Can we just go home?"

Checked in to Cosmopolitan last night. Watched the Lauren Hill concert from our private balcony. Then my wife fell asleep and I went on a 9 hour gambling bender. I lost $500 and hit the ATM around 6AM and began a heck of a comeback. Finally cashing out UP $1000 (yes, $1000 “profit”). Today while waiting for our table to get ready for dinner my wife hit a $500 jackpot in the High-Limit area.
I’m not guaranteeing that I’ll have any of it on Monday . . . but right now I’m sitting pretty.
