KMFDM new album stream

Soooooooooooooooooo… is this their 50th album now? I havent heard it but Im sure Sachas in this one. And he better say nothing but “KMFDM” in every single song. I remember back in the day when I was 5 and they were opening for that one band. I like Mega Man.

Kunst is a parody of a parody. Do these things go in circles, or do they just get worse?

i haven’t listened to any of their albums that were made after the 90s. i have a feeling i’m not missing out on much.

Wow this is hideously poor stuff. The beats are $2 Trance beats. The riffs are…well KMFDM riffs and the vocals & lyrics are horrible. It’s pure Ibiza Trance Chart Anthems of the Industrial Metal world.

I mean even going back to their 90s stuff sounds like cheese now but at least it was entertaining here and there…this thing though is just terrible.

I can kind of understand why they keep making records though…they obviously have fans that still buy the music and also they got a ton of expensive equipment that can be used to pump out generic records that pay the rent.

Been listening this weekend…I like it…heavy on the guitars.

Yup, in the 90’s industrial rock ruled. Today, that trancy stuff is what’s hot. KMFDM does a good job of shifting their sound to appeal to the kiddie electro trance fans of today.

The industrial Kiss.

Yeah, so I quite liked their last album (WTF?!) and thought I’d give this a shot. Gave it a good five listens and have to agree, it’s pretty much crap - even from this recently renewed KMFDM fan. I seem to remember I only ever like every other album by them, must still hold true.

The music isn’t too bad.

Some of the lyrics are laughable though.

The good songs that the album has are great. And the bad ones are real stinkers. Unfortunately, they (Sascha) went back into the trend of unfocused pish. Especially after WTF?!, which was probably the most solid thing they’ve put out since 2009, possibly even 1999.

Turn this into an EP and you’re set.

HUGE fan of fifteen years weighing in before I motivate myself to write a real review.

In laymans terms, it’s a dud. To those of the theory of the “every other album” rule, that’s pretty much right, although I think the best cuts from BLITZ + SKOLD vs would have been fantastic.

The majority ruled WTF?! as a post-99 watershed. In fact it clicked with me, a typical jaded fan who’d been following the diminishing returns of everything after WWIII. I was first to write a glowing review on Amazon. I was so refreshed by this release I was almost in a hurry to spread word to the unsuspecting masses that KMFDM had finally put out a worthwhile full length for the first time in more than half a decade. “Krank”, “Come On - Go Off”, “Vive La Mort!”, “Rebels in Kontrol”, “Spectre”. A few highlights that showed Sascha really hadn’t run out of juice all these years, ripe with the top flight engineering, riffs and hooks that have defined the best KMFDM throughout decades.

The rot set in thick. Admirable work ethic aside, Sascha should stop churning these out if he’s really got nothing progressive, unique or different to add to his catalog. There’s truly nothing offensively bad on KUNST and I almost wish there was, so it’d be easier to criticize. All KUNST does instead if expand on the mediocre lull of 03-09 whose era set out to define KMFDM as a BAND project.

Yearning for past glories is futile. I’m posting on a Ministry forum, after all. With them it’s almost inevitable disappointment given the degradation of talent. With Sascha, I KNOW the craftsmanship is still there and it’s disappointing it’s been very rarely explored to potential. I guess WTF?! was a fluke.

Maybe I’m jaded. But a lot.of these songs are.songs I feel I’ve heard time and tike again. Kinda bored of it. Luckily, there’s a few songs that have that breath of fresh air quality about them. It’s an.easily forgettable album. Has it’s moments, but not many. Not sure if I’d call WTF?! a fluke though. Sascha proved he can still put out solid albums. If not, he can at least break formula and do a song or two that really makes me say “wow”, which seems like clockwork.

Sascha needs to tell his girlfriend (or wife or whatever she is) to stay at home and then he needs to patch things up with Esch, Schulz, and Watts.

THEN maybe we’ll hear something worthwhile again.

Can wish but he’ll never play nice with them. Stubborn Germans. And what he really needs is someone with enough balls to disagree with him. It’s sascha’s show in the end. In the old days, whether he hates that period or not, they kept each other in line, almost.

I saw KMFDM live one time and Bill Reiflin was playing bass…that was a nice bonus…it was a fun show…

As for the albums: just not enough variation for me in quite some time…very redundant…

To be fair I think WTF?! is heads and tails above anything Slick Idiot has ever done, so I’m not sure how great a reunion would be these days. I think it might have been more of a magic moment in time than a machine that could keep going and going.

I disagree with that. While I enjoy WTF?!, Slick Idiot has had some pretty fun, and enjoyable stuff. I think that’s where KMFDM fails. KMFDM turned into such a super serious band over the years that Sascha forgot what put him on the map. A serious band that tries to be laid back, but not really. If Esch were involved in the production of Kunst, who knows what would’ve and could’ve happened.

Utter, utter balls.

Have enjoyed the steady stream of albums since 2002, but this one has no redeeming features whatsoever. A lot of it sounds like C side house 12’s.

More like crappy C-Side Trance…I can’t think of even the crappiest House sounding that lame.
