Well I got my copy in the mail today. So far so good. They didn’t get all of the glory single on there and it says in the liner notes that the rest of the tracks will be on extras 3. Also worth noting it says “please note all cover songs and songs not on official KMFDM releases (such as material from sountracks and various compilations) are not included within the KMFDM Extra as they will be released in their own collections.”
I’m sure the same complaints will be made as before. You got all 9 remixes of light in a row on the second disk and the basically do the same for every song. So the random button will come in handy while listening to this one. They did include the NIN remix of light which for some reason surprised me.
As I said before, this collection doesn’t quite pack the punch that Extra Vol. I did. The only tracks that I REALLY wanted a copy of on this were the “newer” version of “More & Faster” and the surprisingly kick-ass remix of “Bargeld.” So I DLed them.
Doubt I’ll have any interest in the Extra series from this point on… What I’m REALLY looking forward to, though, is another rarities collection along the lines of “Agogo.”
Only reason this one didn’t pack a punch like the first is because of all of the multiple versions of Light and such. I love vol. 1. The nihil stuff should be cool though (revolution II and Kraut). This one will probably be the weakest of them all, but it’s not like sascha’s out to impress with these releases.
