Hahahahha…this is brilliant…
I wish Tool would be replaced by a bunch of security guards.
I wish Tool would become a two peice band…namely Ponch & Jon Baker.
Tool IS a two piece band.
A piece of junk and piece of crap.
I would like to see a record made by Tool sans Maynard…just to show how much talent they have, then again you DO need a singer for that stuff, doesn’t work otherwise
Opening for Tool would be awesome.
Where the hell is the new album anyway? Seriously.
The title “10,000 Days” was obviously a hint at what was to come.
It takes a really long time for Tool to put out an album because it’s hella complex writing. Maynard’s part is easy, that’s why he fills up the intervening years with side projects.
They need to make it just right. Emo enough that Amlux will feel all tingly and special. But not so dark that he lights himself on fire and jumps head first into a wood chipper. Tool are very conscienscious about doing right by their fans and the safety and well being of these fragile little souls is very important to Mayor James Keenan Ivory Wayans and the other guys in Tool that aren’t allowed to actually have names because Mayor James has forbidden it.
Ha, nice Gunnar.
I think the long waits between Tool albums are more a reflection of their lazine–ahem unprolific nature. If you analyze their music you’ll discover that the music is not that advanced (particularly with the 10,000 Days album). The most complex instrumental part is the drums but that stuff seems to come naturally to Danny Carey who is an awesome drummer. The guitar parts are not that complex at all. And Maynard is not as smart as he thinks but at the same rate it’s no harm having a bit of a wait between albums (but the 5 year wait between Lateralus and the last one was silly as the last album was a let down… I can’t see how it could take more than three months to get that one down… that’s another point; they’re not spending all the in-between time working on the albums, they’re doing other stuff… like slagging Fred Durst in movies about Ministry)
