Killing Joke "War Dance" < AJ Vox style

Heard this today on Retro-Active (24 hr TV music) and I was in my office when it came on. I had to stop what I was doing to see who it was 'cause it sounded so much like Jourgensen but I knew it wasn’t a Ministry or side project song.

It was Killing Joke’s “War Dance”.
Came out in 1980 and the vox is grindy style (pitchshifter FX pedal) but not the death metal kind. It’s that alternative industrial kind we heard Al do on Twitch, MIATTTT & LORAH.

I always knew Jourgensen was deeply influenced by Killing Joke but he really borrowed that vox idea more than he emulated it. I never knew this before but it doesn’t change how I feel about Ministry or AJ, not even in the least.

All the greats were influenced by someone or something and everyone is guilty of imitating or even plagiarizing someone else’s style or clever idea.

I just think it was a cool factoid to have stumbled upon today…it made me smile and I appreciate Killing Joke even more now.
