Seeing them tonight. 1st time seeing KJ…can’t wait!
I saw them a few years ago. Good show. Not much in the way of special FX - just a couple of guys hammering out good tunes. Jaz Coleman looks like Alice Cooper but about 300 years older.
I had tickets for tonight, but had a falling out (HARD) with the guy I was going with. He turned into a conspiracy theorist who follows Info Wars and doesn’t believe Sandy Hook happened. I told him to shove the tickets up his ass and keep the money.
Yes, I’m missing KJ over a political dispute. That, kids, is called putting your money where your mouth is.
I gave up trying to see KJ because 3 different times they cancelled shows that I had tickets to…
Sweet. Let us know how it goes.

I would’ve still gone and then blasted the nut on the ride home and ended the friendship after the show lol.
I caught the show here in LA last week. Pretty good show. But I agree, dude looks old.
Maybe because he is?

So would I, but I’ve been dealing with his bullshit for so long that a Killing Joke ticket was a small price to pay for getting to excoriate his ass.

I was there too - are you going tonight to CW?

I thought that a while back too. I seem to recall him even wearing a top hat and suit, haha.

Is that what that’s called?
I mean, I guess if politics are more important to you than either friendship or seeing a favorite band, maybe you made the right call. Just seems pretty silly to me.
Your ex-homie isn’t going to change his views just because you bailed on a concert. And if people’s views/opinions on political stuff are that important to you that it makes or breaks a friendship, you should probably screen them earlier in your relationships. God forbid you find out y’all don’t agree on something AT a show and you have to UBER 80 miles home, haha.

It wasn’t so much politics over friendship so much as I had had enough. I guess I should have elaborated. Been friends with the guy for like 7 years, he was my concert-going buddy. He started in with this “Sandy Hook didn’t happen” and “Trump will bring back the old Republic” and “deep-state” crap about a year and a half ago, and unless he’s sitting in the passenger seat of my car staring out the window in sullen silence, it’s all he talks about. I gave him enough time to realize he was rubbing my face in it, and more than enough notice.
I don’t want my ex-homie to change his political views. I just don’t want to spend so much as another second with him.

you made the right call with a loon like that. “sandy hook never happened” fuck those assholes that say that shit. shit, you shoulda stopped the car and made his ass walk when he started saying that shit. Some lines you don’t cross. How do people fall for this shit?
Maybe because he is?
Yeah, but like really old. Heh. Not trying to bag on the guy, he was tearing it up. It just looked kind of funny.

Gotcha. There’s really nothing more exhausting than someone who won’t shut up about something you don’t have interest in (or worse, that is also contradictory to your values).
I hear ya with that conspiracy/false flag jibber jabber too. It’s one thing to be distrustful and skeptical about everything, but when such people resort to straight up attacking and slandering victims, it just reaches a really depressing and gross level.

Thank you for seeing it my way and helping me process this. It got really ugly, and I keep replaying it over and over in my head (which does no good, but still) – really personal, you know?
I don’t have many friends… so I put up with his bullshit for a long time because that’s what you do when you love a friend, you look past his bullshit and try to accentuate the positive. But there was no positive anymore, so I had to let him go.
The show was pretty awesome. PIG was great with just a 3 piece and I met him afterwards (Backing tracks for keys & bass). Killing Joke was in really good spirits…they played mostly older stuff.
I met:
Bryan Black…Hellbent/Haloblack
Burton Bell
John Bechdel
Youth
Ben & Vin from PIG
Raymond Watts
I saw:
Martin Atkins
Afra…you didn’t have the beard so I wasn’t sure…you walked in right behind me.
Ahh, Bryan Black - his music outfits such as Black Asteroid and (older) Motor are great. He’s a great DJ as well.
My instagram has some KJ pics I took. Shame we didn’t meet - yeah I shaved…for now.
