well, they played for about 90 minutes; but were late starting (didn’t get on until 9.30, finished at 11.00) - shame there was no Endgame, Pandemonium (or Singularity for that matter) but I’m not moaning - it was a great performance. Jaz’s vocals were spot on, apart from a few missed notes during “In Excelsis” - but the “Thin the herd” roar in Great Cull was bloody amazing. As was Raven King, which I’d imagine was a pretty had song to sing.
It was a surprisingly ‘tame’ gig, lots of static crowd
Jaz: “They want me to talk more, but I’m not going to cos I’m shy… and I fucking hate Bristol!”
Would anyone mind posting the set list in text? Photo-sharing sites are blocked at work, so I see lots o’ broken images when I’m pronging during the day (hey, it’s better than doing actual work).

Solid set list. I’m always disappointed to see the mid-80’s albums get almost completely ignored, but I get it. At this point, it’s the equivalent of bitching about no Twitch-LORAH songs in Ministry sets. I miss seeing these guys live, the one and only time being the 1994 tour, which was remarkable. My only chance will be December in L.A., which I’m seriously considering. Still working out the new album, it’s a grower (love The Raven King).
Agree with most everything people are saying.
But of all songs to pick off KJ 2003 why Asteroid?
Am I alone on this one? That songs blows donkey dick, right?
And yes, Tomorrow’s World seems terrible for an opener.
I saw them in Los Angeles on their last tour and they
opened with Requiem. It killed! If they want slow and
droning I feel Ghosts of Ladbroke Grove would be much better.
Nonetheless, I am a huge Killing Joke fan.
Probably listening to them more than anyone else right now. However, as much as I like them I absolutely cannot stand some of their songs. Such as…
Primitive
Complications (Probably get some disagreement on this)
Wardance (see above)
Change (see above once more)
They kill live, but to me they are one of those bands whose set list choices seem piss poor. The Melvins fall into this category too. As of course Ministry on every tour past 2003 and Tool after the Lateralus tour.
Asteroid is a silly song but it is a bit of a hit live.
Love Like Blood was played on the last tour with the original line-up. It is a great tune imo. I think maybe the reason it was left out is due to Raven King being in the set this time around…Love Like Blood was dedicated to Raven last time they played.
I look forward to hearing The Great Cull live…I think that is hands down the best tune on the new LP…an absolute belter!
Rocked up to the tour in '03 or '04 but had only just turned 18 and already lost my ID, that sucked, hope to see them some day. Not too intimate with their work but I quite liked Asteroid.
“Here Comes The Singularity” is now my fave tune on the album…that riff is an absolutely vintage…brings a big smile to my face when I hear it…Geordie fucking rules.
