Ken Marshall has a youtube page that is fantastic. He’s been doing all these videos on how he does what he does, what motivates him and just all kinds of inside knowledge. In this one, he literally opens up a skinny puppy song and goes over the tracks and sounds and talks about what he did and why.
I was able to meet Ken in Atlanta after the 2014 SP show. He’s real hands on, I saw him on the SP 2010 tour running sound in a little shitty place. Then SP releases the 2010 Bootlegged, Broke and in Solvent Seas and he mixes that album (which is a fantastic live record of electronic music. somehow it feels organic - perfect album cover represents it too). I first noticed him on Rabies. I’ve always liked his work. It’s so damn cool that he’s sharing this wonderful information to anyone that is interested.
It’s a bit long at 40 mins, but it is him restoring a full remix of one of Skinny Puppy’s Handover Track Icktums. If you have the patience, and are interested in Audio recording and mixing it’s worth the watch. Ken shares a lot of his techniques here.
