They are not great remixes. They just seem to kill the energy of the originals making them impotent. I’m not really into remixes anyway unless they are really special and do enough to make the song sound different. Was never a huge fan of the Godflesh remixes I’ve heard and the Jesu remixes dont match their original forms, except the Blind and Faithless alt version. The ‘Friends Are Evil’ remix is cool too.
That blog does not seem to appreciate Jesu that much, or at least the recent Jesu output which one could understand, it being a metal blog and such but in one article they described Hymns as one of the weakest Godflesh albums or something like that… [shocked] Hymns is a bloody classic! One of their best.
Pantera sucks, the remixes are crap, and this is really old fucking news.
I have both of these remix CDs. (As I was/am a huge Pantera fan). The By Demons Be Driven and Fucking Hostile ones are not that bad actually.
The Walk ones, not so much.
