Jobs

Just out of curiousity, what does everybody here do for a living?

I’m an assistant manager of a 3-star hotel in a mid size city. Not a very interesting job but at least I get to meet a lot of people in different walks of life and I get lots of travelling perks. You?

Peace!

i’m currently on disability

If I had a job I would tell of it.

Can’t get a job in this little fuck of a country (Ireland), though I am waiting to hear back from a number of recent applications.

Depending on finances plan on moving within 15-18 months. Either Germany, Australia/NZ, or U.S. or Canada.

I am Director of IT for an independent broadcasting company.

I am unemployed right now. I have mostly worked odd jobs in between college such as bike courier, liquor clerk, hospital support (used to deliver bodies wrapped in plastic from patient rooms to the hospital morgue, cleaned up about every kind of bodily fluid imaginable), dispatcher, local fast food etc etc…

Going back to school again, classes start Monday… maybe someday I can actually find a career. [crazy]

I’m a loader at fedex, its not bad. Before that i worked at various grocerie stores.

I manage two yoga studios.

Accounting.

Used to work in IT support solutions for a major company…until they went broke last year.

Now I work for a family business (financial advice) and am making more money than I know what to do with. I should have worked for my family YEARS ago…I’d be set…instead of working for a stupid corporate conglomerate (fuck em).

I started out in life as an illustrator, many many years ago, but made fuck all money from my art. Hated being the starving artist. I felt like a scumbag.

Has anyone else here been a ‘starving artist’ at any point in their lives?

I’m a cook in a mexican restaurant…sorta. I mainly do soup, salad, and desserts. But I also sometimes actually am a cook, and make the burritos, and the mex-type dishes. I also expo there as well, more often than the actual cooking, and about as equal as to the salad station i’m stuck on. So i’m stuck, but I get around at least.

I’m a Senior Safety/Reliability Engineer. I work mostly on the design-side performing, presenting, and reviewing various analyses/drawings that can lead to design changes and eventually design certification prior to first use of a critical system. I also revise standards, requirements, and policies as well as process the CYA legal paperwork when we can’t meet a requirement, rather it be our own or someone else’s (OSHA, FDA, CFR, etc.).

Manager in the business to business sales group for a big telecom company. Funny that so many are in the IT realm. Guess that’s what industrial music does to you - or at least did to you back in the early 90s when the whole technology/cyberpunk/whatever element was associated with it.

Or maybe we are just more likely to post on here since we are computer nerds. All the other industrial people are dying things black and hanging out, probably.

guess my musical tastes never got out of school…since I’m not in the comp field… and settles the job question too.

Film/Video Editor

i manage an audio engineering college.

Audio/Video editor.

I do a great deal of spreadsheet work for the sales end of a company that produces drapery and bedding for the hospitality industry. Whoo!

I do title research and leasing for oil, natural gas, and wind farm acquisition as a contractor. My title is “landman”, which makes me a superhero.

I supervise the transportation for all the raw materials coming into all of the Molson Breweries in Canada.

Fun stuff most of the time. Except when something is late…
