At the risk of being verbally abused… can anyone give me the dilly-yo on Final? Never heard any before, and I was wondering if it’s worth giving a spin?

absouletly love Final. not only is it my favorite project from Justin, but one of my favorite musical projects of all time.
droney ambient stuff, mostly processed guitar stuff, sometimes some synth stuff. sometimes hints of melody, but mostly on final’s 3. solaris (4 track version) is one of my favorite albums of all time (probably 2nd place behind lull’s “moments” )
I was actually planning on writing a review for Solaris soon, so I’ll post it here.
Bored & unimpressed with Jesu?
Now that just hits me square in the gut. I imagine most of you are still burning candles at the shrine of Kevin Shields and company while stabbing Broadrick dolls with voodoo pins.
Jesu is the vessel that flies down paved roads twisting along high ridges offering sweeping views of steep green mountain slopes + far off distant ranges of pinks, purples, and grays.
Good times.
Case in point.
Conqueror: quite good. there seems to be only 3 gripes with it that I have: not crazy for Medicine or Bright Eyes, yet anyway. hopefully they’re growers. It’ll take time to compare this to the self-titled, but I felt the self-titled was a bit more diverse sounding than this one.
sundrise/sunset- fucking awesome. perfect headphone stuff. I love those long tracks of his, going all the way back to go spread your wings and pure II.
lifeline: you wear their masks = amazing. put that one on headphones when I was tired and I was transported somewhere else. as for the jarabe track- very un-jesu like, but that’s what makes it cool! it’s also the first time I’ve heard her sing, she’s got a pretty good voice.
still need to listen to all this stuff more extensivly, but I’m a happy camper now. hopefully pale sketches will arrive within the next few days.
I have a feeling Pale Sketches will come next weekend or something. well worth the wait, that’s for sure.
