jah wobble

reading his biography he mentions doing some recording (bass, obviously) for ministry in london at some point. anybody know anything about this? i suppose he would have met al through martin atkins (and possibly chris c?), but i’m not aware of anything being released. any ideas?

Could have been around the mid-80s, since that was when Al was in the UK the most. Could’ve been a Sherwood connection.

99% sure that would be the case.

I’m also 99% sure I’ve got that book for xmas!

By the way… I’ve been buying the Loft 12"s recently and just scored one that has an amazing Jah Wobble tune on it…

Check the tuneout below…

Below is the lowdown on the Loft 12" faturing the above tune.

“The legendary 1970s Loft parties were revered and enjoyed for host / DJ David Mancuso’s eclectic and inspiring selection of tunes. His ‘sets’ inspired a generation of New York club DJs (Frankie Knuckles, Larry Levan, Nicky Siano) whose own take on Mancuso’s style went on to change the face of dance music with the creation of house (Knuckles at the Warehouse) and garage (Levan at the Paradise Garage). The “Loft Classics” series gives us a taste of the awesome tracks spun at this night. Part 11 features Francine McGee’s awesome percussive jazz-funk epic “Delirium”, a slice of electrodisco-soul from Cerrone co-producer Don Ray (“Standing In The Rain” - the original pressing of which sells for £100!) and Jah Wobble’s 1980s dub-not-disco killer “How Much Are They?”.”
