Jaded Evil Lambs

So after a long hiatus of not doing much in the way of music, I played a solo noise set last Friday, and in preparation I gathered up all my old files that were sitting there collecting dust, and uploaded them to my new bandcamp page (I ditched the Adolph Bunyan & the Nazi Lumberjacks moniker in favor of Jaded Evil Lambs, an anagram of my name). The Amazeballs EP (which contains my set from last week) and Done With It are the standout releases, the rest is pretty much hastily tossed-off remixes I did while bored at work (although there are a couple gems in there). Anyways, this is for my noiseheads. Let me know what you think.

listening now…like a lot so far…is that you on the album coveR?

EDIT - this stuff would be great after smoking a fat blunt

I’ve only heard the first track, but I think this has appeal beyond just “noise heads” as it has a beat and it’s not as piercing or antagonizing as most noise music

And regarding the name of the project…why not just DavelyBob? I like that better…

EDIT - the voice on the first part of “A Valuable Learning Experience” sounds like Genesis P Orridge

Indeed, that is me on all three album covers. Second one is me and my dog.

Blunt music for sure. Part of the reason I’ve been less productive lately is quitting pot for the whole foster parent thing. It’s a bit harder to stay in that kind of a groove without it.

The tracks with more of a beat to them are sort of what I am working my way up to. Originally I was going to keep Adolph Bunyan for pure noise stuff and use Jaded Evil Lambs for more composed pieces (been slowly feeling my way around Ableton Live), but once the show was booked and they needed a name for the flyer, I pulled the trigger and don’t regret it a bit. I didn’t use Davelybob just because I don’t want any one project or release to be the “definition” of what I do. Besides, I’ve always been one of those nerds who would sit around coming up with fake band names and pseudonyms. Ever since I put together the poetry magazine back in high school.

Every last bit of A Valuable Learning Experience is lifted from the band Blane Fonda. From their tune A Valuable Low (which is phenomenal shit) and stage banter from a show of theirs I bootlegged. Check 'em out next time you are in the mood for some dancy dancy time.

Glad you’re diggin’ it void. You ever want some fucked up remixes done, get me your multi tracks and I will fuck them up something fierce. That goes for anybody.

Also, I have always been a bit more drawn to the more ambient/droney/loopy side of noise than just the harsh shit. There’s a place for feedback and static and screaming, but too much of it becomes a trope and bores me. So there’s that.

Pretty cool so far…I like #2 for sure.

I released another album of wackiness over the weekend. I’m proud of this one, it’s definitely more cohesive than my other stuff, probably because 5 of the 9 tracks were recorded in one sitting on Saturday. Immediacy counts for something. It’s a bit harsher too, overall. Check it out.

I just noticed you mentioned you use Ableton Live, i use it too, although i don’t know much about it and am probably a more casual user, i use Superior Drummer 2.0, Line 6 thingy and guitars. Lots of guitars.

Actually I still haven’t made much use of Ableton since then. Haven’t had the time to learn the whole DAW, so still banging away on Audacity as it does everything I really need it to do. Really want to get up to speed on it though, I’ve seen it in action just kicking around with my buddies and it is QUITE an impressive tool.

Yeah, i only have very very basic knowledge of it and knock out my wee demos every now and again.
