Asap if there is a god.

hmm… the sweet dreams one doesnt sound all that bad. i mean… silly… but still, its an interesting approach. i just pre-ordered the triptykon EP so i have a free dollar to spend at the amazon mp3 market… i am thinking this might be where it goes…

There’s a new Tryptikon EP?

BWAHAHAHAHA!!!

Oh my fucking GOD!!!

That “Sweet Dreams” cover has me dying at work.

Holy fucking shit!!!

Never in our wildest years could we have imagined it would get this bad!!!

Marilyn Manson haters you have just been fucking P0WNED

EDIT - And whoever said this was the most creative thing he’s done in years, by slowing down and not speeding up, yes you are correct. Bloody AWFUL.

Marilyn Manson haters you have just been fucking P0WNED

Yeah just when you think it couldn’t get any more horrible than Manson’s cover Jourgensen trumps it.

AL SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKS!!!

I listened to the tracks this morning on my headphones so I could do them justice.

They are completely unlistenable.

Any of you that think Sweet Dreams is good is freebasing hardcore!

Yeah, I laugh about Al’s “retirement” as well. He’s like Tupac. Making more music dead than alive.

I’m not knowledgable enough about the music industry, but if anyone has an actual clue, what do you think he’s getting paid for these puke packets anyway?

Thanks for the Triptykon reminder. Loved the album and wanted more the second it ended…Really wish I could make it to the show later this month.

Pre-ordered!

Paranoid wasn’t too bad… Sweet Dreams on the other hand…

Even by Cleo standards, that cover art for the “Sweet Dreams” EP is hilariously abysmal. It really looks like they just pilfered some clip art online and, voila, donezo.

Ministry/Al should have quit the cover game after Supernaut.

I liked ALL the covers prior to 2004.

And I’ve HATED every cover song since then.

Even Black Sabbath never ended up this bad (anybody remember ‘Forbidden’??)

In fact, I cannot think of anyone who did.

He’s become the industrial metal Adam Sandler character from The Wedding Singer!!

Forbidden is a great album.

Not for someone who only wants the “classic” Sabbath sound of Ozzy or Dio.

But it’s a fine album and very different. I was a big fan of Tony Martin, actually, when he was in Sabbath. He was a total professional and has a great voice. What I liked best about him was he could serve up both Dio’s songs and Ozzy’s songs with equal finesse and fervor, whereas Ozzy and Dio (yes, I love them both) can only do justice to their own (they murder each others’).

OK, I guess I never actually heard Ozzy do any of the non-Ozzy stuff, but still, I guarantee you he would wreck it.

“Born Again” (featuring Ian Gillan) was crapped on by everyone when it came out as well, but it is also a fantastic album.

I’ll take Glenn Hughes over this Jourgensen crap, though. Seriously, it’s just friggin’ AWFUL!

I’ve given the Tony Martin material multiple chances, and I’ve found it all immediately forgettable. Even the one with Geezer does nothing for me.

“Born Again” works only as a comedy album. It’s like a Spinal Tap record. Some of the most ridiculous lyrics ever committed to tape.

The stuff I heard from Seventh Star wasn’t too bad. Too bad contractual obligations got in the way of it being an Iommi solo album. It had to get the tag “feat. Tony Iommi” on it which makes him look like he’s got a major ego. But then again he kind of did in the last few years with Ozzy. From the Sabotage period up until Never Say Die Iommi was standing center stage while Ozzy stood off to the side. When we all know the singer should be center stage, unless ur a band like Tool

I don’t think the Martin material is great, but I like his performances. I do like “Forbidden”, though. Forgettable is probably a good word for the rest of the Martin stuff as I don’t really recall anything standing out, but I wasn’t actively buying any of those releases either.

The only non-Dio or non-Ozzy albums I’ve kept were “Forbidden” and “Born Again”.

You’re right, though, about the comedy aspect of the lyrics on Born Again. They are pretty awful. “Disturbing the Priest”? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Never mind. We could go for hours on that album. And yeah, it was Spinal Tappish in that era for MANY reasons . . . the cover they all hated, the Stonehenge incident, their retarded and drug addled personalities . . . and Tony was rocking some of the gayest, most leathery leather fringed outfits at the time as well.

Back to topic, though . . . Al is a doofus and his music sucks.
