Is Al getting better at keeping things hidden or are people getting lazy?
Wasn’t Animositisomina available on Soulseek 8 months before it came out or something? What’s the dilly-yo? Shouldn’t Rantology be sneaking around out there somewhere?

The question should be more: who would be bothered to leak it!
Things are getting harder these days…KMFDM’s new album hasnt leaked yet and its got less than a month to go. “With Teeth” leaked with only 3 weeks left to go, too.
I guess it depends on whether Sanctuary released any promos for this CD or not.
Animositisomina was leaked 4 months in advance (I actually had a copy in my hand 1 month before its release, since it came for free with a 6 issue subscription to Outburn), but I don’t remember Sphinctour getting leaked very far in advance, if at all. Much like that album, we only heard about the details of this album 2 or so months in advance, so might not have even been completed until fairly recently.
Animositisomina was finished long before its release date, and since Ministry had been given up for dead after DSOTS, it was much more anticipated than this release, which is just a glorified greatest hits album.
The question should be more: who would be bothered to leak it!
I really don’t understand why all your recent posts have been negative. I mean, yes, everyone has an opinion, but yours have been extremely negative for someone who hasn’t even heard the album!
The Rantology album is a celebration for Ministry turning 25, and many bands do this without even remixing their previous work. They bang together a “Best of” box set for $50 with nothing much on there (New Order comes to mind).
On top of this, there are 2 new albums coming out from Al next year, followed by a tour.

Dont worry, I only appear negative because I am somewhat disilluisoned with what Al is doing recently, it does not take from the fact that i am a die hard Ministry fan. But being loyal and genuine I feel it only right to react coldly to what I think Al should not be doing. Up until Houses Ministry could not be knocked but Houses was a repetive childish mess and from the snippets off Rantology (which I have heard) and the track listing its not looking any better. I could be wrong, I do hope so. As Al is winding down somewhat i would prefer for him to wind down with as much integrity as possible. Get out while the bread is still fresh sort of thing. And I do wish Paul was around do something about it. But hey thats my two cents.

Afra’s got a point there. I mean a new Ministry and Revco! (and in the same year!) At least Al is taking the time to remix some stuff for us. (although his choice of non-remix tracks is a bit iffy).
And contrary to what I’ve been reading on here recently, I loved HOTM (it’s by far the best thing Al’s done since Filth Pig) and would be more than happy to hear more of it on RGB.
I know the CD will find it’s way into my collection at one point.

I agree that Al is probably working his ass off, I just don’t understand who this collection is for. The new Ministry fan would probably do better with Greatest Fits, and the die hard fan already has alot of this album. It would be one thing to do a full on remix of your backcatalogue ( a la Puppy’s Remix Dys Temper disc), or have some sort of fan remix contest or something. but this isnt that. I don’t HATE the idea of this, I just think the execution is, to use someone else’s language, “slapdash”. My two cents.
I agree with Cooter’s post. I did a little complaining about Rantology, too, but I’m not totally against it. I do plan to buy it. I like the idea of the new mixes and a new song, but previously-released album and live tracks? I think the remixes cater more towards the more die-hard fans anyway, so why not fill the CD with more collectibles, instead of songs we already have? That’s really only my beef - the redundancy, because I own HOTM and Sphinctour. Otherwise, yeah, it’s exciting to see some activity from Ministry between albums.
It is kinda funny that this CD is a celebration of 25 years, when it only covers the last 17!

yeah. and the new revco is what scares me the most.

Okay, afra, I agree with you on this one. I’m one of the few who likes box sets–with fancy packaging, new photos, artist embellishment, new credit information and, most importanatly, IMPROVED SOUND!!
Rantology appears to have been leaked.
