I never had hemorrhoids. Tip to gents: wet toilet paper with warm water if your toilet is by a sink. Wipe with that - you’d be surprised how clean you get from it.

It is funny that in this age of Swine Flu paranoia where we have hand sanitizers everywhere and constant vigilance about germs and keeping the kids’ hands clean, etc. we still think after taking a giant dump that a quick wipe away with some squares of paper passes for “clean”.

And if @ the point where you’ve succumbed to
having to regularly apply ointment to your anus
(that’s me : ) I highly recommend Preparation H
cooling gel. It’s clear, a little less viscous…but
after 2 min you don’t want to tear yourself a new
anus.
jervey - it’s all wiping. That’s it. Most hemorrhoidal conditions come from those who wipe too roughly, or too much (like wiping 5-6 times). Fiber is also a necessity in a diet, and most people these days don’t get enough of it. Bran is your friend.
I’d take Hemorrhoids over IBS any day of the week. that aint even a contest. scratching yer ass versus needing a bathroom [size 4]NOW[/size]. With IBS traffic jams become your worst enemy!
