Helms was a great senator. He stood up for what he believed in and for the people in North Carolina. He was controversial in some ways but that is very small compared to the rest of what he did. There is a reason he was elected to the senate 5 or 6 times in a row. Now we just have senators that sell their vote to the highest bidder.

Your statement here is like hailing George Wallace for standing up (in front of a school door, as it happens, to block children from entering and learning) for what he believed… disgusting!! the country is a better place having this fuck dead, just too bad it didn’t happen sooner! I don’t believe in heaven or hell and yet i think this guy is suffering tremendously, for the dishonest shit he did while he was alive, now that he is dead.
