Has anyone heard this here?
I’ve heard samples and it’s really quite good - like Bjork without all the attention seeking theatrics.
Be interested to hear from anyone who’s heard this…
I have it, it’s really a genuinely great album and would have ended up on my top 10 of '09 if I hadn’t gotten it in Jan of this year. Beck and Gainsbourg have natural chemistry and Beck’s production enhances what makes her good rather than drowns it out. The videos are great too, youtube them if you haven’t already.
The video for the first single was pretty cool. I’ve heard the album, and it’s not a corker, but definitely worthwhile.
I have a feeling it’ll be like Jeff Buckley’s Grace in the sense that it’s ‘good’ at first, but gets better and better with each listen.
I wouldn’t know, tho; didn’t buy it, and listened to it purely on the basis of whether to decide to buy it for mum for her birthday.
She got California by Mr. Bungle instead.
Probably my favourite album so far this year.
And light years better than the new Joanna Newsome.
