Was that a Ministry interview, or a trip down KISS memory lane? If someone ever asks you, “what happened to Ministry”, just tell them who Al’s rolling with these days…
"What stuff did you grow up listening to? Was it KISS, Sabbath and Led Zeppelin and that kind of stuff?
Sin: Ah dude! My all time favorite band hands down, KISS!
Sin:…that´s the band that got me into wanting playing guitar.
Sin: Dude, you´re not gonna believe me right now, but I´m wearing an Ace Frehley wrist band right now. I grew up listening to KISS, Cheap Trick, Jimi Hendrix… those are the artists that influenced my playing and then as I got a little bit older, a huge Ministry fan. That sort of brought in the real heavy and modern aspect to it.
Sin: You know what, I did! I was a little kid, but I went with my older cousin. I don´t know if you´re familiar with it, but there´s a movie called “KISS meets the phantom of the park”?
Freaking stoners!

yy-yeea…
>>we´re doing “Black Betty” by Ram Jam. Wait till you hear that one! It sounds like Ram Jam on speed!
Shocking. Ram Jam on speed. Just shocking.
Why not do something challenging like I Got You Babe - the Sonny & Cher tune? Perhaps as a duet with Jen from the Genitorturers.
I would pay twice the retail price to hear that.
You’re ripping on Sin because he likes Kiss? Do you have any idea how good or bad he is on guitar? Do you have any idea how good his musical ideas are or not? I doubt it… you just want to rip on him because he said he likes Kiss, right?
Sin is a good guy… he’s the only one of the bunch that will actually write you back if you email him. He hasn’t been around as long as some of the others but he doesn’t deserve to be called a clod.
I think he’s asking why a guy like …ahem… SIN is doing in a band like Ministry?? He seems for all the world like some Motley Crue styled hair metaller…
“Dude, wait’ll ya hear how much our next album rrrrrrroooocks out! Gnarly dude, I’m waaaay stoked over this, y’know like sure whatever”
The artistry and intellectualism once present in the band has disappeared and has been replaced with something more shallow and clumsy - more style over substance.
Once upon a time they were like an artier, heavier, more menacing Killing Joke. Nowadays it’s like Megadeth For Dummies Vol II with a sampler in tow.
you know what? style can have a lot of substance. or not. the last couple of videos, all reworkings of previosly released ministry videos. so maybe the idea on now is to hire cheap and keep it in the same format “feel” whatever. mrs. jay #2 in a nurse’s outfit? the first time i saw that (in case noone else picked it up, i’m new here) it reminded me of that truly terrible bad blood video.
worst ministry video.
wait. lay lady lay wasn’t all that special either.
Ministry will certainly not be remembered for their music videos.
Good Ministry videos:
Stigmata (better than it will ever get credit for)
Revenge (for its time)
Jesus Built My Hotrod (barely)
Bad Ministry videos:
The rest of 'em

NWO is easily their best video clip.
I’d go beyond NWO and just say Peter Christopherson did a good job for them period. NWO and Just One Fix I think are their best videos bar none. NWO topping out just due to Peter’s various messages via image (IMO).
Cracking Up and Do Ya Think I’m Sexy I always thought pretty fun videos. Nothing special about them, just not bad vids.
But yeah,
Revenge=Whateva (typical 80s vid IMO)
Same Ol Madness=Whateva (again, typical 80s vid)
Over the shoulder=Whateva (cliche 80s random cool images vid)
Lay Lady Lay=B-O-R-I-N-G
No W=Damn that video ruined the song for me (I made sure to never watch the video again)
Lies Lies Lies=Retarded plain and simple
And I dunno…pretty much all else outside of N.W.O. and Just one Fix, I think things hit “O.K.” when at there best, but typically were retarded.
what about “reload” video then?
Peter Christopherson also directed NIN’s Broken video… Its a shame he doesnt seem to direct anything nowadays.
He’s got some surprising stuff on his videography:

alright then. it’s a tie.
reload and da ya think i’m sexy. done by tremendous talents . tom rainone (i believe is the spelling-and a friend of mikey’s) and doug freel.in reverse order. mr. rainone had a long history of work on horrow films and cashed in his favors for the cocks video. hence the cameos. doug freel did a bunch of metal videos .def leppard etc.love both videos.
both directors did the deed because they cared.
Reload vid is good. Bad Blood was cheesey and bad - especially the good blood/bad blood part, as it is dumb. I really like the Fire Engine video, it’s fitting to the song and not the norm. Not that I’ve watched many music videos since Beavis and Butthead, so I realise I don’t have much to measure by.
I kinda enjoyed the Crackin’ Up vid. Not sure if i’ve seen Do Ya Think i’m Sexy? or not
I’ve seen shitloads of music videos, and fire engine didn’t really float my boat, was kinda amusing, but why was Al depicted as singing? Ministry vids… favs would be Just One Fix or Reload… as beavis and butthead said about J1F “this is the coolest video ever!”. Oh yeah, and same old madness, heh, yeah merry-go-round’s!
In the Just One Fix vid, did someone get hit in the face with a bat? If so, I might have seen it but barely remember it. Years ago, and before I really even got into ministry.
just 1 fix did show the band
yea sure. but the videos that just show the band (shot live or in studio) are kinda boring too.
Reload was definitely their most interesting video and Lieslieslies was better than any of the others.
