Ink... Who's got some?

Well, ladies and gents, it was well overdue, but as of about 4 this afternoon, I’m finally inked: the enneagram on the inside of my arm, below my wrist. Holy Goddamn, did it fucking burn, like an arc welder being driven through my arm, but GOD, was it… erotic?.. at the same time. Aside from a few touch-ups to come shortly, it’s fucking NICE. Aaaaand, because my friend is an apprentice at said tattoo shop, she priced it just under sixty bucks.

Life. She is good.

Anyone else have any tats and/or tattoo stories, good, bad, or downright hilarious?

I’ve got Harley Quinn on the outside of my leg(between the knee and the ankle) slash’s autograph with top hatted jolly roger smoking a cigarette that he drew as well, on the inside of the same leg (just below the knee). a blue dragon on the outside of my other leg(between knee and ankle) and Al’s autograph on the inside of that leg (just below the knee) and then the ministry symbols on the tops of my feet! funny thing about the autographs slash was really humble and tried to talk me out of it… Al couldn’t wait to sign!! like he was a chick signing a credit card slip at the mall!! extreme opposites! damn I love Slash!! I like Al too But Slash is just Bad Ass!!!

I have the album Ink, by The Fixx, that’s about it. [:|]

Actually, I can’t think of a single word/image/symbol I’d want inked on any part of my body, that would carry its significance for years to come. Of course, between 18-25, I seriously considered getting the RC Revco tattoo on one of my shoulders. In hindsight, I’m glad I didn’t. I also thought about a bar code on the back of the neck with “1002”, but am also glad I didn’t go that route.

1002

I figure that with all of the people who rushed to get tattoos in the 90’s on a whim they will be sick of them soon enough and so i will let those people be the beta testers for tatoo removal. This way if i ever want to get rid of mine (god forbid!) by the time I hit that point tatoo removal will be perfected… Can’t imagine me ever wanting to get rid of slash (had it about a year) or harley quinn(had her 6 years) al’s sig(had it about 6 months) is pretty cool too. The dragon (I’ve had about 4 years) i may one day not like, same with the symbols(I’ve had 2-3 years) but right now I really don’t foresee me wanting to lose any of my tats!

I am always interested in getting a tattoo but, like Tenohtwo, I don’t know of any design or symbol that I could guarantee relevance throughout the rest of my life. But maybe I haven’t looked hard enough for something as there are some things/beliefs that I know I will never shake (unless I lose my mind.)

Mmm… maybe that’s what I’ll do today, look for tattoo ideas. Thanks Icepick

Oh I forgot, I know of a guy who went to Vegas during the summer and got the word ‘Geebag’ tattooed on his ass cheek… supposedly he was sober.

funny thing about the autographs slash was really humble and tried to talk me out of it… Al couldn’t wait to sign!! like he was a chick signing a credit card slip at the mall!!

[laugh]

That sounds like Al alright, at least he didn’t make Mrs. J sign your leg too.

Imagine a crude colour tattoo of Al and the wife in an embrace with roses around them and a caption: “With a love that will echo through the ages”.

no ink
no piercings

I have a tattoo that says “No tattoo’s or piercings puh-leaze”.

I wanted to get the Revco symbol around my arm at one point but never did it. I’m boring.

About ten years ago, at the tender age of 18, being fucked up on Tequila while traveling the wonderful land of Cancun, I decided that a tribal armband was pretty cool. After a few hours and one long puking session, I had a tattoo on my left arm that would come to be the call sign for every retarded jock who decided he wanted a tattoo over the next decade. I also have a warbird insignia above it which I like and relates to my family tree that I got just about a year and a half ago.

I got the revco logo back in '91. I took the BSQ CD booklet to an artist and he put in on me. It is on my back left shoulder. i don’t regret it - it was a wonderful time of my life and that is the “brand” - i felt - perfectly summed up everything i was doing at the time. its about an inch and a half across.

Be careful I. M., single tattoos don’t like to be alone and eventually have a tendancy to multiply.

See avatar. It’s from my lower ribs to the top of my hip. The second one and a half is black and red flowers on the opposite side from the lower ribs to the top of the hip. They are 3.5 years old. The lower 1/3 of the avatar bled profusely in what looked like black and red rain droplets.

It’s not intolerable, but it is more intense when on top of bones. After it’s over, it feels like a bruised sunburn.

I do not recommend getting two on the same day on opposite sides of the body from the same artist: the artist’s hands cramped up and the two locations confuses the brain on where the endorphins needed to go.
