Industrial Strengh Tour

The Industrial Strength tour was fine. Wasn’t big into CoC, was fine seeing The Melvins, usually a hoot. Ended with a nice 1-2 punch of Night Goat, with Roy drumming on his kit while Dale pummeled his own, then ended on The Bit. Was tasty.

My main grumble on the tour was the venue switch. Was going to see Ministry at First Avenue, but then switched across the river to another venue. Wasn’t bad, just a real bummer.

KMFDM, I liked Paradise as an album for the most part, like to see some of it live. May try to see them, but after seeing them with Ray and Bill or others, seeing Jules and Steve gone, makes the band feel less impactful live. Last tour was first time I’d seen them live without Megalomaniac, felt weird. Probably be a lot more excited if they could get along with Skold enough for a KMFDM vs MDFMK tour though. Pipe dreaming.

FLA, again, saw them at Cold Waves with guitar and drums, was killer, than again as just Bill and Rhys and other dude on keyboard and it wasn’t quite as great, still fun, but not as much of a punch.

I dunno individual songs, the whole thing just has a Pig vibe, y’know?

Sure…I’ll give it a listen…TY.

Which cd? They seem to have many…

So are you back then or what?

Chant or Pig? I only have one by Chant (“Hydra”) and one by Pig (which I just discovered I removed from my external hard drive for reasons unknown; I do a lot of filing mp3s late at night, which comes with its own set of perils).

Frankly, I was mostly talking out of my ass. I got a similar feeling from each. That’s all.

Chant. I’ll give Hydra a listen…thanks.

Chant previously opened for KMFDM on their 2013 and 2015 tours, and contributed to a couple songs on Our Time Will Come. He was also the live drummer for Die Krupps around that time.

The Palace was alright, definitely the kind of run down place Ministry should be playing in. But I agree, I was really looking forward to the show at First Avenue.

I just heard they’re touring again and have a show coming up near me. I would love some Filthpig stuff but recent setlist is pretty solid, although IMO it would make more sense to go through the new songs first and finish with the big classics. Also… watching on Youtube I hear a lot of songs sound like they have prerecorded vocals which would be pretty lame.
For the past 20 years every time I paid for something Ministry it made me think I’ll never give Al any more of my money, but now I kinda want to go anyway.

Don’t feel bad – happens to me every time.
