i just remembered this page. heading to anaheim soon as well!

Holy fuck! What a show! My body is gonna protest against me tomorrow but it was a total blast. Probably the best Ministry gig I’ve been to since Dark Side.

Sf tonight!!

Have a blast!

Back from my little Ministry vacation. . .

And yeah, that was a fantastic show! If Al hates playing the old stuff, then he sure did a good job of faking it. High energy, did not seem inebriated and looked like he was having a good time with it. Can’t believe I got to hear some Pailhead live. Just to be a complete Pronger, I thought about calling out for “Señor Peligro” between each song, but I didn’t.

Had fun hanging out with Gunnar and grmpy prior and during. Drinks and funny stories for hours.

As I said elsewhere, I have retired from pit activity, but I really thought about it during this show.

Post Script: Since Anaheim is already halfway to San Diego, we decided to carry on down and spend a quiet few days there. It didn’t occur to me to check Ministry’s schedule, so I didn’t realize they were doing the same and playing the SD HOB the very next night. The hotel we like to stay since it’s super dog friendly is right next to the HOB. We get there, and who’s checking in right behind us? Al and Liz. Pretty funny.

All that!!! And Al had to be happy with the crowd response. The pit didnt let up until he played the new songs. I remember at a few shows in the past he was less than thrilled wit the audience energy. This was easily the best crowd energy in the last 20 years that ive seen. Great show glad i went and gunnar and acid were good company as always

Probably the best Ministry show I’ve been to (I’ve seen every tour since 2008). The Pailhead songs kicked ass.

I find it funny how hard Jourgy tried to distance himself from the industrial label in the 90s to basically plastering it on the tour name itself. Must be an age thing like: well im an old fart now, no need to be an edgelord.

I never put too much weight into it and I totally got his reluctance to accept/embrace the label, especially since the music was really moving into a more organic rock area anyway. Industrial is such a vague box too. One person may think THROBBING GRISTLE and the next thinks ORGY.

It was really funny to see how pissed people got when the tour labeled “Industrial Strength” lost KMFDM and Frontline Assembly. Like they didn’t know how to read a poster or something to see what bands were currently on the tour. “Hey, Da Melvins Isn’t an industrial band!!! Dis is bullshit!!!”

I still read about people complaining that FLA and KMFDM weren’t on the bill…

In other news I just read KMFDM is going on a headlining tour…I find them kind of tedious these days but I might go anyway…I saw them back in the early oughts and Bill Reiflin was playing bass…that was a fun show…

You know, I have never seen KMFDM live. Maybe I’ll grab tix to that. They’re playing Long Island (Huntington) which has decent parking and is not TOO far from Queens…

Might be worth a shot…should be a fun time…I heard some people raving about the opening act also… their name is escaping me at the moment…

I was mad about FLA, but it was more about how they were treated. Bill has to find out on Facebook, when the new line up was announced? That’s shitty. They had buses on hold and everything.

Their name is Chant and I’ve been listening to their album pretty regularly – Pig-type stuff.

I bought the tickets.

Oh really. What song sounds like Pig?

I would like to see KMFDM BUT…it’s been 10 yrs since I’ve heard a good release…similar to Al but at least I know almost all of Ministry’s stuff but under KMFDM, I know very little (over the last 10 yrs) except for a few standout tunes. Their last few tours don’t include much older stuff. :frowning:

Yeah I did read that also…and yeah that is pretty crappy…bad business practice for sure…

With Ministry being the marquee it still qualifies as “industrial strength” to me. Fanboys can be pretty fucking stupid though. Anyway, these bands havent released anything noteworthy in almost 20 years so I have about as much interest in this tour as I do getting fucked in the ass.
