I'm Not Gay on RevCo myspace

I like it.
If I still DJed I’d spin it and see what kind of reaction I got.

I swear, some of you guys are predisposed to bitch about anything Ministry related that doesn’t say “Paul Barker” in the writing credits.

Pre-Barker: YAY. I like.
“Houses of the Mole”: Decent.
Everything else: You’re probably right.

maybe they should have called it I’m Not Connelly

Nicely played, Sean.

Yeah, there’s just nothing great about this song. The fact that it’s electronic doesn’t make it any better/worse than C&L. I gave this song a chance, but I don’t see what Al J. is so excited about. The lyrics are pretty bad, nothing I’d want to sing/chant along to. Long gone are the days of We Shall Cleanse The World, You Often Forget, and In The Neck. Why don’t they just spare us the anticipation, and give this new music a completely different identity (that goes for C&L as well). This is not RevCo in my eyes.

1002

“I’m not gay, I just pretend to be when I’m drunk. I… have a girlfriend.”

EPIC.

This was a fun parody of an industrial dance song. I liked it though not as much as some of the stuff off C&L. I think all the Gibby and Jello stuff is gold.

“Big Sexy Land” is my favorite Cocks album but even when I first heard “Son of a Bitch” I could tell those days were passing. Actually “Viagra Culture” is the closest thing the Cocks have put out to “BSL” IMO.

the new tune okay, not brilliant. I got off the RevCo train after BSQ. Linger and beyond is all ‘bleh’ to me. and for the record, covering Rod Steward is always shit.

Linger and beyond is all ‘bleh’ to me.

Ah common! Gila Copter, Sergio, Mr Lucky!

The new one isn’t that bad. Peaked my interest just enough to see what the rest will sound like.

Mr. Lucky is a classic.

“Hey, didn’t I see you at the Sizzler last night?”

“You’re shorter than me!”
“You’re shorter than me!”

I’ll bet that dress is real expensive.
It’s too cold, and I can’t stand salty stuff.

Do we know who does the voices in that exchange?

I was hoping they’d sample jay sherman from that cartoon “the critic” for that song… oh well… there’s always the remix

Good shit, the lot. “Sergio” is probably my favorite RevCo track of all time. “Mr. Lucky,” “The Rockabye,” “Creep,” and “Dirt” get LOTS of play from me, man.

GET YOUR FILTHY HANDS OFF MY ICE CREAM!

mediocre.

Its ok, I like Hookerbot better. Best album Al ever made? I’ll wait, but it isn’t godawful or anything.

I’m personally quite digging this new RevCo sound.

Probably the funkiest-sounding thing with RevCo stamped on it since…Crackin’ Up.

I was surprised at how positive the crowd response was to I’m Not Gay one when they played it right before Ministry came on at the show last month.

To me, it actually sounds like a cross between some of the older Velvet Acid Christ material and one of the dancier cuts on Suicide’s (sadly overlooked) American Supreme. That is, somewhere in between generic industrial techno that’s trying to sound ominous and generic industrial techno that’s intentionally trying to sound cheesy).

Hmmmm, maybe Frankie convinced Al & co. that sounding gay, black and married wasn’t a bad thing after all?

The Jello songs on Cocked And loaded are cool!

Oh God, I agree with MT on this one. Jello’s contributions were the only worthwhile material on C&L, too bad the remix versions were fucking horrible.

i like it… i like the dance feel. but is it just me - or are these vocals just SCREAMING to be some Connelly squawking. i mean honestly… sounds to me like he’s even enunciating like chris. the “tired of being a homo” (chorus) part doesn’t fit - to me. Sounds like he’s about to go into a bush rant. But all in all – I like it.

Don’t tell anyone but Josh has always been a HUGE admirer of Chris and when he was asked to Join Revco. He had to sit down with someone and have a LOONNNNNGGGG fucking conversation about whether or not he should do it… Feeling guilty for replacing someone he considered a huge influence or even somewhat of an idol.

Josh, Clay & Sin have talent and are honest people.
They’re the only ones who have any of that left in the camp they’re involved with.

It’s different no doubt… but it’s what THEY love… and that’s it. Unfortunately somehow it has a refurbished band name stapled on it…

What a Fucking mess.

I’ll bet that dress is real expensive.

I’ve always been really scared that it was Paul playing the woman.

I’ll be soooo DistURRBED.

Why not just change the fucking name? What does the current Revco have to do with the old Revco? Nothing - absolutely nothing. One member, if that?? Al, from what he said, isn’t even involved directly in the project. So it’s a bunch of hired musicians with mediocre talent - this is the total opposite of the Revco I grew up with. It’s evident they’re piggybacking on a name that was established by some very talented and original artists - something they will never aspire to be.

Just change the name. No-one can replace the old Revolting Cocks so why even bother?

If you REALLY want to get into that… This is going to just get really ugly. Really fast.

THINK ABOUT WHY. The name would be kept… in this situation.
IF AL ISNT WRITING ANYTHING ANYMORE.

WHY. Would the name continue?

think about it.

agreed. I like these guys. Sin’s guitar work on TLS was good. Josh kicked ass during the RevCo show.

I think Clay (& speaking to him) is way more involved with the overall sound…hmm, maybe that’s why AL is handing over RevCo to these guys.
