I’ve stopped using the terms “left wing” and “right wing” altogether now, because like “conservative” or “liberal” they’re just pejorative / swear words used to paint whoever your opposition is as a kind of absolute evil. Interestingly, the song from which Lard gets his signature makes the point that corruption / exploitation / whatever can exist regardless of which banner you chose to take up: “Republican, Democrat, it’s the same […] go to Lenin or Marx, it doesn’t matter” etc. etc.

And I don’t want to call myself a liberal or conservative just because I think a little gun control might not be a bad thing, or because I am very much opposed to illegal immigration, or because I support the death penalty while also advocating rehabilitation and prevention.

I agree. its sickening that someone could be convicted outside of a court of law based on curcumstantial evidence and without the benefit of innocent until proven guilty.
