I’ve always suspected the latest, post-Paul incarnation of Ministry was just a cash grab. Just about everything from the predictable mosh-fodder sound to the cheesy Anarchy/Peace symbol logo looks like a calculated marketing ploy to the hot topic crowd. This backs up my theory pretty well:

If you read the description it’s a Hot Topic exclusive. Pretty fucking lame there Al if you ask me. Certainly not consistent with the anti-establishment punk rock image he’s trying to live up to.
i dunno man, this doesn’t bother me. he has an exclusive shirt deal with a store who caters to his current demographic. seems like a smart move to me. plus, he’s not a major label guy anymore, certainly this accounts for something?
being angry at jourgensen for using hot topic as a means of distributing merchandise is like being angry at him for not releasing last sucker on some CDR label.
Suppose I should hate kmfdm and nine inch nails as well…darn…I don’t have a problem with bands using hot topic as an outlit to sell their shirts and etc, even ministry, these days. They’re only making pocket change off each album sold, but make some decent change off their shirts and everything else, so i’m all for it. I, of course i’ll probably never be buying anything ministry/al-associated probably ever again, but it’s nothing to hold a grudge about anyway.
I can imagine actually trying that, if hot topic clientelle are anything like I imagine (never been), “I don’t believe in god, like you know he’s just a construct designed to make us all like sheep, which I counter-act by coming her and buying all these old-skool ramones shirts like my buds” flicks fringe out of face
