hurricane

Well dudes,I have a giant fucking well -formed category 4 hurricane headed right towards me…oh the joys of living in South Florida…it’s about to thrash the living shit out of Haiti,Jamaica and the eastern part of Cuba…hopefullly it doesn’t turn to far NW or Miami will be right in the eye…either way parts of Florida will get hit hard…need all the luck I can get…later…

Love and prayers, Brother! Hopefully it’ll ease up a bit or veer away. Either way, I hope you and yours remain safe and relatively unaffected.

Thanks,G…I appreciate it brother…I feel bad for those poor fuckers in Haiti…as if things there weren’t impoverished enough…they still haven’t even recovered from the last earthquake…the 11am advisory will give a better idea of how S Florida will be affected…

My hurricane preparedness basically consists of drinking loads of red wine and listening to Mercyful Fate at a very high volume until the power goes out while I watch projectile objects hurl through the air and watch trees fall on my house…good times…

Hey boss -

definitely hoping for a safe outcome for you and yours.

I channel the spirit of [url https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TfgKJ9G_2fg]The Human Tornado to help whup that hurricane’s ass.

As Dolemite himself says -

I punched a hurricane, and made it a breeze!
I swallowed an iceberg, and didn’t freeze!
I grabbed a star goin’ a million miles a minute…
and slowed it down to the state speed limit!

That sounds pretty scary.

Take care and be safe.

This is a pretty good response plan to any situation or possible disaster.

hurricanes fucking suck. i’ve had to evacuate once or twice a decade ago from ones in TX leaving all my stuff behind hoping it would still be there when it got back. our area lucked out every time but know poeple in other towns who’s houses were flooded. as long as i’m stuck here it’s always in the back of my mind every year how losing everything is a possibility. positive vibes & good luck.

It’s expected to hit Savannah on Friday night - the night I was planning to drive to Savannah.

Meanwhile, in Atlanta, we haven’t had a drop of rain in weeks.

Over 6 months where im at

I was in a mandatory evacuation area. I left on Thursday afternoon at 3:00 pm and came back on Saturday at 4:00 pm after the bridges reopened, the power was on, and the biol water notice had expired.

We got damn lucky that the eye of the storm stayed off-shore. 20 more miles to the West, and I would most likely be homeless with nothing but a concrete slab left.

My house, trees, and screen enclosure are all intact. My neighbors with original roofs lost patches of shingles. Sections of my backyard fence fell while the fence across the street completely fell.

A tree just outside my subdivision is uprooted. A power pole infront of the Walgreens splintered close to the base and has a boom truck holding it up until it can be replaced.
There are signs blown out, billboards stripped, big freeway signs snapped off their supports, and debris everywhere.

I raked my front yard today and got six 33 gallon trash bags and one wheeled bin full of tree debris. My backyard is three times the size of the front yard and has a pile of the neighbors’ roofs’ shingles in it. Not looking forward to raking it on Monday.

At work, we had water intrusion of several buildings and sections of roofs are missing on others. I’m wondering if we will have to go to work this week; I should know Monday night.

Happy you made it through safely!

We got lucky down here…minor damage and some clean up…the upper east coast got hit hard though…that thing could have been catastrophic down here…just look what it did to Haiti…anyway, thanks for the well wishes and glad the other board members on the coast or near-by are all well and good…
