I had sent Afra a message suggesting a Prongs Ministry remix project…sometime last fall (!), but never heard back from him. I just figured he either hated the idea, or was busy and forgot to reply.

Well, I am not a mod (I never remembered to ask for the priviledge, go figure), but I never check mine either. And I guess that’s ok, because I have no PM’s.
Not to speak for Afra or anything but I don’t think he’d mind a remix project. Any particular ideas you wanna pitch our way, we’d like to hear them. Also, afra can be reached at afra@prongs.org … he does check this.
I always read mine and usually respond right away. Doesn’t mean I always do, as laziness hits me occasionally.
Speaking of laziness, I owe you some Ministry scans. 
In regards to the remix project, I don’t remember if I wanted it to be some sort of contest, or just a collaboration. I figure that many of us have some form of editing software on our computers these days (Adobe Premiere, Acid, CDWav, or even softsynths), and it would be cool to hear what we could do with past and present Ministry songs. At the time I wrote Afra, I had a great idea in my head for a long ‘classic’ extended mix of All Day. I never ran with it, but would still be interested in screwing around with that song. I figure we could get 10 - 20 entries, post them and vote on them (if legally possible), or just share them on Soulseek, torrent sites, etc.
Maybe a poll would give us an idea of who would really be interested in something like this. Of course, we could always organize a cover project, a la Neworderonline’s ‘Community’ projects, but those seem to take a while to get finished, and can cost $$.

I’ve actually been thinking about getting back into music lately, and that would be a great place to start. Since Ministry is my favorite band, I’d love to do a tribute of some sort.
Edit: As for the moderators, I’ve never had a problem getting ahold of anyone. Oh, well.
I remember on Piss Army, back when it was on a crappier forum coding, there was to be some sort of tribute song sharing on it. Great results, actually! catgoat did a good version of “Deity”, another guy covered “The Fall” with jello biafra samples in it, and another guy covered “just one fix” a la zz top. as a matter of fact, you can d/l the just one fix cover on the current pissarmy forum. it’s fucking funny!
Also, shem’s cover of “Thieves”… classic.
i’d love to hear this stuff.

i shared the folder i have on soulseek called piss army tribute, has most if not all th tracks that were either done or in progress. theives is awesome heh.
the project that did my cover was called RESTITUTION and we had two afternoons to do it. it wasn’t the final mix either, but due to a hard disk failure, the protools sessions was lost. anyways, check me out on soulseek if you’re interested in hearing any of them. (mine or not)
If somebody organized a tribute thingy, my roommate and I would be happy to contribute something.
