Hizbollah

What’s up with this track? Heard it for the first time the other day. It was on my iPod. I wore the LORAH cassette tape out in my car when it came out 20 years ago and don’t recall ever hearing it so it must have been a CD version only? It isn’t like the rest of the album. Where did it come from? Al or someone else? I really like it.

Yep.
From the discography on this very site: 6 Hizbollah (CD only)

this track dates back to 1984 and was used as an intro to the live shows, at least it’s documented on 1984 chicago (at “the exit”) bootleg, but that version didn’t have these moaning vocal samples.

i don’t know about cassette releases of this album, but vinyl version didn’t have both hizbollah and i prefer tracks on it.

Weird that you never heard it, but I had the CD from day one, so it’s always been part of the album to me.

The song dates back to 12-14-84. From the Tours page:

Date: Friday, December 14th, 1984
City: LaGrange, IL
Venue: Lyons Township High School

Wasn’t abortive cd only also?

hizbollah’s a crappy track.

next?

abortive is NOT cd only, but I Prefer was.

is the version of abortive with lyrics any good i never really liked this track as it comes after the very underated (and under played live) "flashback’ it reminds me of some shit i used to try to break dance to when i was 5 in the 80’s electric boogaloo shit but, maybe it’s better with lyrics?

Hizbollah’s fuckin’ awesome. Heh, not too long ago, it got even better when my media player (on shuffle/random) played it RIGHT AFTER Leaether Strip’s “Khomeini.”

It’s definitely one of my faves off LOR&H, right after “Golden Dawn” and “Flashback.”

As for “Abortive,” I’ve always been SUPER-curious about the vocal version. That’s definitely a track that sounds right off of “Twitch” (Hell, it was on the alleged “real Twitch,” the “TwitchED” bootleg).

You know, I might need to listen to LOR&H right now. It’s a class album, for sure.

yea but twitched booklet said abortive was a part of a medley. i can’t really see how abortive/twitch (part 1) is a medley since the transition is SO out of place and sudden (not to mention that abortive on twitched is like one and a half minute shorter).

but isle of man can blend into twitch seamlessly, they have the same drum samples and same beat, and the noises too. kinda cool!!

abortive with lyrics. i doubt it was something really nice because it was performed a few times with luc van acker doing the vocals but you can’t really make out what the fuck is he “singing”. more like making noises and some groaning.

84-88 ministry = AWESOME

I would’ve REALLY liked it if “Where You At Now?/Crash & Burn/Abortive/Twitch I/Twitch II” was one big-ass medley.

Luc groaning = AWESOME. [cool]

So I pulled out TwitchED and gave it a spin again, what song did Twitch II become?

I know a lot of this era stuff got re-mashed/re-worked/shifted to a side project track, but in particular it’s reminding me of something, the big blasts of noise/panning etc, are in the final ‘track’ too… Just what damn song is it?

twitch II is twitch II… it also shares some samples from tackhead tape time album btw

‘abortive’ helmed by eddie echo, pretty sure this was a tackhead track in a past life.

‘hizbollah’ and ‘i prefer’…personally, it’s hard for cd only tracks to work but i think they fit well on the record. ‘abortive’…shoulda been on twitch

I was listening to the Tackhead Tape Time album earlier in the day. Must have been it.

I don’t know if anyone noticed this, but I swear I can hear the same sample in Abortive used in We Believe. It seems to be these beeping noises and a guy saying “Go” with an accent. Right at 2:43 it starts with a very quite Beep and at 2:45 the “Go” samples goes off, it continues on a little bit. This sample is VERY quite so try and hear it. These same samples can be heard in the starting minute of Abortive. Interesting.

yeah. i remember that too. very faint.

I noticed that when I first picked up the album in '05. Threw me off the second listen, but I like it.
