Fucking people man. While driving home, I got hit and run on a busy street here in Chicago, a few hours ago. I’m luckily okay but the car had to be towed. The passenger side doors have to be replaced.
I did get the license plate but the cops said they won’t bother hunting him down - don’t really blame them - they have better things to do. They did give me his address, which I told the insurance company.

In NY you can file a police report (within 48hrs) and your Ins. will go after the other driver if you have thier info. I can’t believe the pigs didn’t check it out & follow through. Since they fucked you & you have thier address, go to the address, copy the car info down (make, model, registeration info if it’s on the car) file a hit & run with your ins. co. If the ins co can’t do anything, your ins won’t go up. I wouldn’t let this “slide”

I thought hit and run was a felony?? they don’t want to pursue a felony?? You should point out to the cops that Al thanks you in the liner notes that way they are sure to go after that guy and IT WILL BE ON THE NEWS. Cops and the news love to do things for famous people! That sucks brother I hope you getting that plate # will be enough to let your insurance get that guy! I would go to that dudes house and try to get pics of the damage that was done to his car that way you could probably make the case that the damage to his car was the result of him damaging your car!

Track down that fucker’s address with his license plate number (bless the hippies for “free information act”) and fuck that guys car up, no justice better than ‘street’ justice. He almost seriously injured you and screwed up your car, so screw up his car back. Its only fair. Eye for an eyes biotch! Ill do it, if you want, always up for vandalism nowadays. As far as the other car, the cop gave me his full name, address, and his vehicle’s VIN number. He said the insurance company will investigate it, once I gave them that information.
Maybe it wasn’t serious enough for the cops to go after him - that’s the impression I got. But Police here are kinda known to be lazy. Still, I would think the City wouldn’t want someone driving around like that.
You know, in the 10 years I have been driving, I’ve never been in an accident. The only thing I’m worried about is actually having the nerves to drive again…hehe. Maybe I’ll avoid driving during the time drunks get out of bars.
I mean if shit like that went down here, with police too lazy to do anything about it, the people would be in uproar, but then again here in Ireland we have one of the lowest murder rates in the world, and not much other “real crime,” I imagine the situation is pretty different in a major American city.

Cops probably didn’t want to persue it since it’s non-injury and damage seems fairly limited. Insurance can handle it all. If there were injuries and far greater damage, cops probably would have opened an investigation then.

One of the many reasons I loathe driving in the city. Also parking is a complete disaster. I have a car, but never really use it. I actually have become fond of the CTA. I also have an unlimited monthly pass and I’m too cheap not to use the hell out of it.

Understand that you won’t be driving that much for a while now, but you will probably get over it… just give it some time.
Things like this is one of the reason’s I don’t have a car… Have a drivers lisence… but no car… that and it’s fucking ridiculous expensive to own a car here in Sweden. Damn petrol prices alone makes you wanna cry.
