Well, the four-night Chicago stand starts tomorrow. Who’s going? Has everyone here pretty much given up hope on new songs and special guests? Can’t blame you. I don’t know…four nights in the same town with the same set list, could Al really be that stubborn? I’m going to not-so-boldly predict that Stigmata and JBMHR show up at some point, and Gibby or Jello is the ‘special guest’. Ogre’s the only other possibility, but he’s probably busy working on the new SP.
Hey VIPs, four last chances to ask the band about the set list.

what difference does it make if the setlist actually changes by 1 or 2 songs during those last 4 nights. the tour will still be more or less a farce. a routine. an entertainment industry 9to5like job, repetative and lifeless. if one prints 81 to 08 on their shirts one should play the songs, period. but it is obviously asked to much of a handfull of hired guns to learn a portfolio of songs that exceeds a total duration of 2hrs of song material. let alone the piss poor joke of only playing non-Barker material for the first 80 minutes.
Al:
please please please, play the same set list 4 times in a row in Chicago and try to sell it as a piece of art. people were ‘adventurous’ enough to buy into you VIP nonsense so they are more than likely to swallow this last bucket of piss with just as much pleasure.
u know al wants to break something out from Twitch deep in his heart but his supermacho metal side iz saying “no they’ll think im gay” i hope Chicago rape’s him for the sorry ass setlist.

Funny you mention this because I thought for sure “So What” would not be played at all considering it’s Barker’s old “Black Outs” song with that fancy harmonic riff and the samples peppered through out. I thought for sure Al would be just petty enough NOT to play it!

Thanks, the 242 avatar didn’t last too long. I change my avatar like I change my underwear. Actually, when you see a new image, it means I’m bored out of my mind at work. Surprised it doesn’t change daily. I am looking forward to new Nitzer Ebb this year, I’m pretty sure they’re done recording the whole thing.
Didn’t someone on this board collect questions from everyone to ask Al a couple of weeks ago? Never found out what happened…
that was MONTHS ago. I think it was jupitreas he used(or still does) work for a metal magazine…I think he said the Interview was scrapped due to scheduling conflicts or something?

oh, and naturally I’d be happy for everyone going to the Chicago show to get a better set list or a few surprises. I’m just saying it won’t change a thing in the big picture. this is not the way to go out in style. but then again, you gotta play within your limitations I guess [laugh]
would be interesting to see if people who buy his tickets for all 4 nights boo him on the last night because they’re stuck with the same shit each and every night.

Actually, I was referring to when braintumor asked for messages before the April 25 show in Atlanta:
would be interesting to see if people who buy his tickets for all 4 nights boo him on the last night because they’re stuck with the same shit each and every night.
Some random dude at the college mentioned this to me… this will be there first in about a decade?
Big Hit was in '95, I think they split in '96 (can’t recall if they toured for that album), so it’s been a long time. The ‘reunion’ tour last year was great; the new song from Saw IV, nothing special. It’s crazy looking back and seeing how radically each album’s style changed. I always wanted to hear them produce more songs in the vein of Belief, but they were a band of ever-changing styles. I remember my jaw dropping in horror when Lightning Man debuted on 120, and those clarinets and horns piped up. What the…?! I’ll admit the song grew on me quickly (one of maybe three good songs on Showtime).

Jello was at the LA show and didn’t take the stage, doubt he would come to Chicago to perform.
Ogre is working on new oHgr and new SP.
Gibby, really doubt it. Unless he can get a cut of T-shirt sales.

Jello played Chicago 4 years ago. Not saying he will, but I was surprised he did that time. Fun show even if it was primarily Houses. That 03 show sure was good, except I thought JBMHR always sounded terrible live. Little did I know that would be the last Barker sighting and CC made an appearance. Last of the old guard.
