Ok. So I finally got a CD of theirs and listened to it and I have no clue why any of you guys are praising this. I know that I’m one of the steadfast that pretty much loves Al’s choices and music direction and crap but this is UTTER SHITE. It’s like bad Hatebreed. But worse. Christ… I’m thinking about being intentionally late to the shows I have tickets for, despite that I have VIP tickets, just so I can miss these guys. I hope their live show is better than their music.

Usually I would have l;ots of words to describe something this blatantly trendy and uninspired, but if he’s around I’ll hand this one of to Peligro and jizzy. They’re much more apt at trashing things of this mediocrity than I am. And that should say just about all I need to on that matter. So yes… FAR WORSE.

i think they guys are a good heavy band. they rock out, and the take names. sure, they arent masters of music, nor composers of beauty, but they thrash, and kick ass while doing so.

I used to be about… oh… 6 years ago. And then I grew up. Pennywise aren’t bad, but i would much rather listen to better punk than them. NoFX, Bad Religion, old Ramones, Propaghandi, Action Patrol, etc.

Damn I must be old because all but Bad religion sound like Pop Punk to me. I liked DK, Misfits (old with Danzig), Circle Jerks, Descendents, Black Flag (prior to henry) sex Pistols. Those are just eh ones off the top of my head!!

As for Pennywise, NOFX, etc. - there is a time and place for them. Not the worst shit in the world as far as I’m concerned but far from genius.

I don’t completely hate Rollins or Graves. Just not into Henry’s stint with the flag and I do rather enjoy the second Newfits offering, famous monsters, HATED american psycho. I just wouldn’t label any of it punk really. ('cept for black flag ,just not my brand)

I hate Offspring (Save for Smash). Offspring sounds as if Wierd al Yankovich decided to try his hand at “serious” music… and fails miserably. (The only decent song to come from Offspring since Smash has been that song that has the line in it “black roses and hail marys can’t bring back what’s been taken from me…” Gone Away I think is what it’s called.)

Yeah yeah, his name is Greg Hetson. although i don’t follow him much anymore and when i did it was definitely more circle jerks than religion. ms. grmpysmrf really likes bad religion though. she still keeps up. Man I was really disapointed with the oddities abnormalities cd from the circle jerks… Man some of you think think uncle al sold out and is making cash grabs?? man check out the above Cd by the circle jerks and then compare to one of their earlier ones like VI or group sex or anything really. stomach churning.

that album is great. it’s not as wild cus they are all getting older, and keith’s voice is nowhere near where it used to be… hell he proformes with a fucking cane now… the diabetes has really taken it’s toll on him.
still looks better than will from flipper though…
