I was at Amoeba this weekend (obviosuly With the earlier post of the Merzbox) But just thought I would post that i picked up a hard copy of what was leaked on the net. It seems all of the art and inserts and stuff are the same as the “Official release” however the track order and the actual Music on the disc is what was leaked on the net. The Disc looks exactly the same. Also, It’s still in a cardboard foldy case rather than a hard case however it is missing a bar code simply a white strip missing the numbers and lines. Just thought it was odd that I found a hard copy of the leak since it seems the “Official Release” is the new track order and extended songs.

I checked two different shops on the official release date, and both copies I found were the “leaked” versions. It was the curtailed tracklisting, though with the same artwork, and both were digipacks (in other words, the cardboard foldy-things). It wasn’t until approx. one week later that I found the…what I’m assuming is the official version - correct tracklisting, basically. It’s still a digipack, however. And it does have a barcode…I had figured that, much like Houses of the Mole, the shorter version is the one that would make wide circulation. I was guessing that there were legal issues with the Revcolution Medley (or Purple Head), and so the version without these two tracks is the one that would eventually be considered the “true” album. However, looking around the other day, there wasn’t a single copy of the shorter one to be found…it would seem that whatever legal issues, if any, have been overcome, and now it’s the longer CD that’s widely available. Hey, I surely don’t mind, just kind of curious as to what that’s about. It’s counterintuitive - you would think that the Revcolution Medley would make it to the initial pressing, and then be cut. But, you know, whatever.

can someone please tell me why the fuck did they repeat whole “revcolution medley” in the “revolting cock au lati” track??? that’s stupid.
plus, as it turned out, mrsjay was totally wrong about “the real thing sounds awesome”. granted, cocked and loaded has some good moments, but what pisses me off is that they turned revco in a total trash. i mean, it was ‘trash’… but it was stylish and it was sort of unique. but this is nothing more than a stupid rock with shitloads distortion and thus (again) total overkill of high frequencies.

Good question. A few bars of it would have been a nice callback to the start of the album, but putting the whole thing in there is just tedious.
i’m not whining (well, i am, but that’s not the point), it seems that al listens to noone except his wife’s opinion about his recent recordings. since she doesn’t know anything about mp3s/leaks/bootlegs/cdburning let alone the sound stuff and production, the results are disastarous…
i mean, i thought the album was mixed badly. but when i checked out revcolution medley and revolting cock au lait, that was the most ugly piece of shit ministry camp ever put out - it’s a lame attempt to make another track like “linger ficken’ good”, it doesnt matter that there are few “tribute riffs” in it, it sounds like it’s played in a concrete hall at extremely loud volume. it just sounds shit. and some people complained about “too much reverb” on dark side of the spoon!
just recently some dude posted a humorous review on somebody’s last.fm account; it was very funny one, with same words applied to each song like “this song features prominent thrash guitars, heavy distorted lyrics that are hard to understand and this song sounds remarkably similar to the rest of the album”. it was more funny when mrsjay defended the record “that guy is not even a journalist, he’s e-journalist (wtf?), also he needs to get a proper copy and a new stereo”.
well tough shit, mrsjay, that statement kinda makes us all deaf retards. first, search the internet about the leaks and file compression, also about cdburns. then say “buy proper copy and new stereo” on every corner.

Funny, I’m usually one of the loudest voices when talk regarding Ministry turns ugly.
However, what I’ve heard so far of Cocked And Loaded is…ok. Granted, I haven’t really heard the album in its entirety, only snippets here and there, but I must say I didn’t find it to be the repulsive mess that I had initially predicted. It’s sleazy and gritty and suitably ‘under-produced’. What more can you ask for? Sure it’s silly, but I think that’s the point - isn’t it??
Still unable to locate the album anywhere in the damn stores though, which is frustrating.
