Happy New Year to all y’all - was very anxious for 2015 to fukk off, and have a feeling 2016 will be an overall better and brighter one.
I saw Primus play Pork Soda in its entirety. Incredible show! Saw a couple cool faces from my past and also the guy who hangs around Gillman that kinda looks like Crispin Glover. The show started a few minutes late, so 2016 actually began when “Mr. Krinkle” ended. They opened with “These Damned Blue Collar Tweekers” and Les informed us that they were gonna try to get Edward Van Halen for next year, since it will be the 25th NYE show. If they can’t get Edward, then they’ll try to get Alex. If they can’t get Alex, then they’re gonna get Wolfgang, and Ler would return as Diamond Ler and once again wear the assless chaps.

There was also a short tribute to bass players we lost last year and it ended with Lemmy. Les mentioned that they wanted to bring Lemmy out for a show at some point.
Great way to leave 2015 behind. Looks like I survived another year.

I wanted to make that Pork Soda show so bad. Flew out for the 2010 NYE show when Les opened for himself, you bastards who live out there and get to go every year are so lucky.
This is only the second NYE show I’ve been to. The first was 1998 and I saw them on the Eve of NYE to see them do Seas of Cheese in its entirety with original drummer Jay Lane. “Last Salmon Man” also made its debut that night.

yeah that was the night before i saw them. didn’t make it to that show but i did stick around to see High on Fire in Oakland the next night.

Went to Palm Springs and had a nice dinner with my wife and enjoyed several gin and tonics. When my wife fell asleep I went out and found a free STARSHIP concert which was fun for about 5 minutes then went straight to the casino. Wished a happy new year to my favorite bartenders and then went straight to gambling. Some aggressive bet pressing and hot streaks kept me in the black all night . . . closing out when I was still almost $2K up . . . at 6:30am. When I got to my hotel room my wife was getting dressed to go study at a coffee shop. Got some pretty rad diarrhea today from drinking gin and tequila all night.

Brain is a monster…you haven’t lived until you have seen him play with Praxis…
here’s a must-listen Brain interview if you haven’t heard it. he tells some great Tom Waits and Buckethead stories and an insane story from when he was in guns 'n roses.
