It’s Paul’s birthday today (Feb 8th) and I am fortunate enough to be in Austin, TX right now, where he resides. I hung out with him and his family today and will be seeing them for his birthday lunch tomorrow, before flying back to Chicago. Paul and his family showed me Austin today. His family is very cool: genuine people (like him).
He’s doing good and Malekko Industries is quite successful and he is mainly busy with that. I saw their offices today and met the engineers. Some great news: he’s sharing studio space with I Love You But I’ve Chosen Darkness so perhaps we will see something from Barker soon. He showed me the studio and Chosen Darkness were there (very cool guys).
Was also my first time checking out Austin - I quite like it (particularly the weather this time of year). Diversity, liberal and cultured - definitely a cool place.
I’d consider a to move to Austin someday, though I doubt my wife would be in favor since it’s oppressively hot in the summer. My brother’s been there for 20 years, and I spent a lot of time in Austin when we lived in Houston. It’s not quite as hip as the locals claim…too many hippies…and not very cosmopolitan. But for an old geezer like me…it would be a wise retirement location choice. Cheap and livable. And the food’s pretty good.
Is that place still full of unbaptised babies?[/reply]
Not so sure about unbaptised babies but we do have our share of uber corrupt politicians and the apparent bumsicle on occasion.
I do see our boy, America’s (former) Hip-Hop Mayor, the exciled King of Detroit - Kwame M. Kilpatrick has brought his theft ring to Texas. Dallas I believe.[/reply]
Was referring to purgatory in the “literal” sense. Up until the 1990s at least Catholic schools were still telling us that babies that were not baptised would, if they died prematurely (or because of them being such sinners), would linger in limbo/purgatory for all eternity. Yeah, good one lads…
Cherish the Bumsicle, his boots should be preserved in a museum. The Museum of the Bumsicle.
