Yeah I heard they are retiring her character. Crazy. she didn’t sound like she was 81 or however old she was.
edit:
I just looked her up she was 70 and looked late 40s. I never knew what she looked like so I kept picturing Skinner’s mom
Late,

Very sad. [:(]
He directed the mighty Hooper also…a part of my childhood died today…and as Grmpy pointed out the guy did a shit load of stuff as either a stunt man or a stunt coordinator…credited and uncredited work…he goes way back to a different era of cinema…
I have been on travel/work so I didn’t even see that this horrible, horrible, loss to humanity was suffered this week.
Hal Needham was the greatest director of all time and worked only with the giants of the industry. His name will forever be emblazoned on our hearts and on the bills of our net-backed trucker hats.
God bless you, Hal!!! Ride that great convoy to the sky, my friend! Ride it like a mother**ker!!!
Hal Needham was the greatest director of all time

Quite a claim, Gunnar. This is the same guy who directed the wrestling cheese fest known as Body Slam.

Truth…it definitely killed me…
I was shocked one time when i read that Smokey and the Bandit was the 2nd biggest-earning film of 1977, only beaten by Star Wars. That’s pretty impressive.
I read that it was fourth after Star Wars,Close Encounters and Sat Night Fever…

He also directed “RAD”, the most amazing film about a BMX racer to fall in love with Aunt Becky from “Full House” EVER!!!
They should have done this routine as a tribute at Hal’s funeral . . .
While Smokey did donuts around them…
