Had to put my cat down today. This is a sad day. Beep had mouth cancer. My wife & I had him for 11 years. Such a good guy; gave plenty of love & company. I will miss him.

Sucks man. Sorry to hear that. I’ve never had a pet live that long (rodents don’t last so long and I just got my first dog a couple years ago), so I can only imagine how awful it must be.

I’m also sorry to hear that - I know how in most cases a pet can honestly become a family member, making it even harder to say goodbye.

I’m really sorry to hear that. It’s gonna be a sad day when my girlfriend has to put her cat down or it just dies (well For her any way, I’m sick of that damn cat and I love cats!) It’s 19 years old, it barely has teeth, it has forgotten how to use the litter box, It yaks hair balls all of the time, It’s look as if all of the tin foil has flaked away from it’s eyes(you know that shiny shit in a cat’s eyes?)
Sorry you had to put yours down. But just think it could be living in Agony Like Ms. grmpysmrf’s Cat is. I think you chose wisely. I’ll still poor a little out for you BEEP. Here’s to the homies!!!

My condolences bud. I lost a dog a few years ago and I remember how upset it made me.

ugh. things like this sometimes make me hesitate getting pets, but the 11 years you spent together were worth it. i fear teh day the deekums becomes ill enough to be put down.

so sad…it’s very hard when you have to put an animal to rest. i put my cat of 13 years down in jan 2003. smokie…it was really hard on me. i still miss him very much. he had liver cancer and was disintegrating before my eyes. went from 15 to 7 lbs in about 6 weeks. it was the most loving thing i could do, but it was very very hard.

Thanks everyone. It’s been rough & I appreciate your comments. We were able to pick out a kitten (6 weeks) yesterday & after his shots, I will have him home next Friday. It’s just easier to jump right back into it. [;)]
