Dave Brockie (Oderus Urungus) and some of the other GWAR dudes had a side project called The X-Cops. It was hilarious. They were all corrupt cartoon parodies of various cop stereotypes and with Dave’s sick humor . . . well, it was pretty good.

So, go and listen tonight at 12am Melbourne time, or any other Wednesday morning/midnight and listen to his show at Southern Fm http://www.southernfm.com.au/… You can live stream it and be sure to tune in a few minutes beforehand, where the preceding presenter often refers to ‘Daniel’ himself.
You can hear his voice, compare it to recordings where I’ve been interviewed and make up your own mind. Hell, why not send it to NASA for spectral analysis if you’re going to put all this effort and thought into it.

I’ve never DJ’d in my life and the most involvement I’ve had with radio shows is pestering them to promote my gigs.

Yep, it’s a huge coincidence that there’s two Dan’s in Melbourne posting about Ministry with a similar taste in music. As for the ‘similar writing style’, I don’t quite get where you’re coming from with that? The fact we use grammar, punctuation and have at least a basic grasp of syntax? Do tell, you’re the English teacher. One thing worth noting; you didn’t observe that I’m basically diametrically opposed to Peligro politically. He’s more right-wing than I can handle sometimes and he constantly criticises my more left-leaning views, even though I don’t consider myself as such.
As for not posting any evidence, do I have to reiterate?
I’ve posted photos of him, of us together, Facebook messages, private forum messages, text messages and to top it off, part of his real name (not his entire name, as you suggested).
When you say I could just pull any old obituary out of the paper, you’re wrong, actually. A relative of his posted about it on FB and tagged him and other relatives with a funeral notice. There were condolences posted by dozens of FB friends.
Now… I could post that and share it, but I’m not desperate enough to prove a point to you by betraying Peligro’s family’s privacy. It’s a dark enough thing to do anyway.
You and I both know that making a fake facebook for an entire family of people that revolve around Peligro’s ‘fake facebook’, whilst deceiving dozens of people with a death notice of someone that doesn’t exist, is highly implausible. And then, to take it further and spend money on posting a death notice in the city’s newspapers… just to continue with catfishing a small forum on the internet.
If you consider that, it’s implausible. Not impossible, but definitely implausible.
And while I’m at it…
It’s impossible for me to post from a ‘work’ computer since… I don’t have one. I make a living solely off playing music and it doesn’t involve computers. As for visiting the local library… you can take my word for it, but I can’t even find my membership card and only went once to do some photocopying, despite having one down the road.
The whole thing you wrote about being ‘pseudo famous’ and wanting to protect my image doesn’t revolve around that. I’d prefer if I’m going to reveal my real name that I don’t attract any kind of negativity, since there could be repercussions in real life. Simple as that. That especially applies to having the views of someone like Peligro intrinsically linked to me. There’s shit he’s said in the past that’s just left me shaking my head in total disagreeance with, but that isn’t enough for me to write someone off. However, I don’t share the same views or ideas and would rather not have any association with them.
As for the sarcastic comment about ‘hitting the jackpot and making it huge with music’, I’m pretty happy with being able to live off it so far. It hasn’t been easy, and at risk of sounding like I’m gloating, that’s all the success I want. Like I said… I don’t get off on making people feel small, and people who chase fame/fortune/whatever often have an inferiority complex that sees them behave in that way. The same kind of pathology underlies catfishing, IMHO.
Another thing- I am genuinely someone who is pressed for time. I literally work around the clock on music and writing, whether it’s paid or not. If I’m not doing that, I’m going to show, playing poker or spending time with mates/family. So, I’ve been a bit of a lurker on prongs. There was one point where Peligro told me that people on Prongs had been asking where I was, I ducked in. Then I drop off the radar because it gets quiet here and life gets very hectic.
That said, when I lurked recently and saw that thread about the Claremont Killer being Peligro, I laughed my arse off. I genuinely found that to be hilarious. Then I comment and this just explodes. Since then… I’ve been making more time to engage with this discussion than I really should. After this post, I’m not even going to bother entertaining the discussion or arguing my point any further simply because I’ve got nothing left to give. I’m shown as much proof as I possibly can without relinquishing Peligro’s full surname and dragging his family into it. That’s where I draw the line and if you remain unconvinced, I can live with that. Besides, there’s no point getting angry over something you can’t control. I wish I’d taken a bit of my own advice when I lost my shit in that other thread, but the truth was that I was having an absolute cunt of a day and I took out on the computer, rather than anyone else.
In short… grmpy, give it a break. I’ll change the DP and name since it was pretty childish, but if you want to persist with this idea that I’m Peligro, you’re actually making yourself look crazier than what I could possibly do for either you or myself. I couldn’t care less if you remain unconvinced, because it changes nothing in my mind. I haven’t deceived anyone like this and I don’t plan on starting any time soon.
But if you stack up the ‘proof’ you’ve provided against what I’ve provided, yours leans more towards implausibility than mine.
