As a Ministry fan, I am interested in what’s going down with the lawsuit, but not to the extent that I would come on here screaming about it. For you sir are the one that is clearly screaming for sure. I cannot see why anyone would read Angie’s response to you as offensive. Have you ever had someone you care for die? It’s not just depressing, it fucks with your emotions and makes it damn hard to respond in a usual fashion, so actually she’s done pretty damn good being so civil to you.

As I said, I’m interested as to what’s going on, but I can wait. I can even handle it if I never know about it, it won’t effect the quality of my life. Jesus, you are one fucked up guy that it means so much to you.

And clearly it seemed to me that the main reason that such discussions are being deleted would be for legal reasons, anyone with a brain could see that.

Oh so they didn’t give you an explanation as to why your questions were deleted, SO? Give me one damn good reason why anyone has to explain anything to you that’s not your business.

Fuck yeah, maybe on another day Angie would have put up an explanation, but yes, her friend died. And suggesting that she’s using a friend’s death as an excuse not to respond to some random dickhead on the net is disgusting beyond belief. So ok, the thread went up a bit before the news of the death was known to you. Do you not think that Angie herself knew of the loss of Raven before that thread was put up? Maybe she’d not even been online for fuck’s sake. Real life doesn’t always follow internet threads.

Legal ramifications these days can mean anything and as the band are made responsible for all that is written on PA, they have to be so careful.

I doubt even Angie’s close friends would have the audacity to ask her about this shit right now (if they did, they wouldn’t be friends). She or anyone doesn’t have to tell you anything.

Oh and why should she not be on the net at this time? What is the respectable way of dealing with things when a friend dies, is there a list of acceptable dos and don’ts? Let me know lest one of my friends dies, I wouldn’t want to upset anyone.

well, i’m hoping this conversation will get past name calling and fingerpointing…

but apparently, it’s not going to get beyond that.

i had thought grmpysmrf’s post was inconsiderate, inappropriate and just wrong, considering the timing. i had also strongly defended the Ministry camp’s decision to not have those discussions up on their forum. but i’m seeing things a little differently now. other than the bad timing for his post (and i still see it as badly timed), i honestly believe that if the fans want to know what’s up when they read or hear about such things, that the bands and artists should address the issues accordingly, not blow them off. when the original thread was posted, there should have been a response from Al, Angie or whomever… saying that it was not something they wanted to or COULD discuss right now, instead of an outright deletion of the thread and threats of bans when the question kept coming up. i’m still of the mindset that what goes on in their business is their business, but apparently, fans really want to know what the deal is and want answers from the parties involved. i think it is blatant disrespect to ignore the questions. i’m VERY upset about all of this. i don’t give a shit who is suing who for what, i don’t care. but there are people that do, because they believed that Ministry and all those involved have principles that they are now backing out of because of money, etc. a lot of fans stayed with Ministry and Al over the years because of those principles. i’m one of those people, to an extent. but, all in all, i understand that Al must run his music business as a business, because that is his livelihood, the bread on his table (mind you, they should not forget that it’s the fans that put that bread on their table, in the end). and that there are decisions that have to be made once in a while that border on breaking principles. the only parties that know the truth about what’s going on and the reasons for all of it are those involved, so i can’t pass judgement on anyone for it.

but i’m very upset about how the Ministry camp is ignoring this without explanation.

She’s trying to hide it from the fans. I gave her an out, giving them the benefit of the doubt - and that thread was deleted. Forgive my assumptions, but what am I supposed to believe from her reactions to this subject?

I’ve never liked the woman, but I never once said boo about it. No more - they won’t ever again recieve another penny from me, and if I could take back the support given to 13th Planet so far, I would - but at least 20 other people have purchased their products based on my reccommendation.

So, to the actual discussion - again, I’ll admit I’m assuming, but let’s go by all of the past evidence, shall we? Every single time an ex-member strikes out on their own, Al immediately slams them. In the case of Martin Atkins, he was right, but even a stopped clock is right twice a day. Do I believe there’s any merit whatsoever to a civil suit against Mr. Barker? Preposterous. Anyone that’s ever met the man are shaking their heads in wonder about this. That’s all I’ll say about it, until the facts come to light - I’m comfortable with being wrong, even though I know I’m not in this case. In the past, it was always spewed vitriol from Al, but not any legal action that I know of. Who does that smack of? And why doesn’t she want you, the fans, to know about this? Sneaky, childish bullshit.

Seriously! They had a member/friend pass away, and you were asking a simple relevant question, which she didn’t want to answer for obvious reasons. She was wrong to snap at you like that, but I think you’re making a bigger deal than what it’s truly worth. She’s truly in the wrong, but you’re showing you’re no better when you’re going off on her. She was rude and snapped at you, leave it be. All of this really isn’t necessary and it’s overkill. But seriously, everyone should just let it go.

The fact that topics are getting deleted is an issue worth being addressed, but all i’m saying is to take a breather for a few weeks until raven’s passing blows over. Not even a couple of days yet. Not saying you should give up entirely with your points though.

I can understand why the Ministry camp refuses to comment on the lawsuit, obviously that could endanger their case. But there’s no need to censor and try and cover up the lawsuit for legal reasons.

Last night Catgoat and I were watching a live Ministry video from 1988 that I have never seen before. It was fucking awesome, I never knew that they’d covered ‘The Light Pours Out Of Me’ back then and we enjoyed every minute of it and talking about Ministry and the gigs we’d been too. This is what it’s meant to be about, not bitching about people you don’t even know.

None of you have any real reasons for all this hate, I’ve only read speculation and bile here. I’m dismayed that even a few that I thought intelligent have sunk into random hate and are ‘hurt’ because your posts were deleted without you approval. Fuck that’s nuts. Some of you need some perspective, it’s not like Angie came around your house and punched you in the mouths - although it would be cool if she did. I’ve been informed by the mods that Angie doesn’t even have the power to delete posts herself. Get that. And although it was the etiquette in the past for mods to tell a member why their posts were deleted, there were a couple newer to this that were unaware of the practice. No big deal.

From a business standpoint I can’t blame whoever it is for deleting the posts. It harms Ministry for that to be public. But, by deleting, it makes Ministry look a bit hypocritical and like jerks. Either way, Ministry is coming out stinking in this case.

Can we please not turn this into a “PA doesn’t like me so I’m going to bring it to prongs” forum? If you think about it, as most here have, she probably can’t comment because lawyers always tell a person to not discuss it. Paul can’t say anything either.

Whether someone answered your question or not, is absolutely no reason you call them a ‘Stupid Fucking Bitch’. I highly doubt right now, she’s even on the Internet much, so writing a ‘no comment’ statement may be hard.

But to insult someone like that - it’s uncalled for, and just plain disrespectful, especially in light of certain circumstances. Most people on this forum don’t give a shit. You’re making this into a huge deal. There are loads of threads on Jesu/older Ministry/USSA. In fact, most replies on this thread aren’t even from regular prongers. There is already a thread on the forum about the lawsuit - read it - it’s speculation but will suffice until something occurs in that case or someone comments.

I don’t want PA members arguing amongst themselves. Didn’t you guys have your own pisstake forum? Use that.

my apologies. i had joined this forum long ago, and this issue brought me back here, so my bad. i’m finding much more on this forum, anyway, so i’m likely to stay here for reasons other than what’s happening over there. there’s much more discussion of the music and stuff, over there it’s all poop and all that good stuff (groan). i take music pretty damn seriously, and i’ve long browsed this forum as a guest to read about just that… music. though i admit, i am slightly put off by the PA bashing that sometimes happens here, all of this crap between the forums needs to take a back burner. they have their playground over there, and then there is this forum, which is a little more serious about the reason we’re all on these forums; the music. and i appreciate being able to pop back and forth between the two. no more for me, discussion over. but i’m glad that events lead me back here.
