Got The Last Dubber CD

I’ll post scans of the packaging if anyone is interested.
I like the inside, it’s got the Last Sucker Table but everyone is dressed up in dreds and reggae clothes. The first couple of songs (are the only ones I’ve listened to) have a slower tempo. the first two are really good actually. Definitely a different feel from the original Last Sucker, well, if the first two songs are any indication of how the whole album will be, that is.

Yep, I got my copy last week as well. I definitely agree on it having a different ‘feel’ than the Last Sucker album. It’s definitely a release for collectors & completionists only, unless you just HAD to have more Bush-trilogy material!

Grmpy, is the tracklist a total mess on yours? Mine’s back sleeve track listing is terribly wrong…it’s got too many songs listed AND they are out of order after track #3 or so. I suppose that’s why these things are so rare. They’re probably having to repress the discs to replace the missing track and reprint the packaging as well. Has 13th Planet gotten a single release correct right off the bat?

At any rate, most of the songs are pretty much industrial-by-the-numbers sounding, and the pace is generally slower on most of the cuts. Some of the songs do translate better to remix form than others, so it’s not a total loss. Sound-wise it’s pretty decent produced and has some solid low end, unlike some of Al’s more recent efforts. I must admit that my favorite song is the one damn track that was left off of the CD (Last Sucker Hardware Revamp mix by DJ Hardware) that was posted here for download from Zshare a few weeks ago.

The Let’s Go remixes come out particularly well, as does No Glory. Too bad they couldn’t mix the silly juvenile lyrics of Let’s Go right on out of the song…

Like I said I haven’t listened to it all just yet.
I do like the first two tracks they are nice and “groovy” (no relation to the 70’s “groovy”) I guess you could call it.

But yeah the tracks on the back of the packaging seem to be in no particular order.

Maybe I should buy another one and leave it in the package if these things are gonna be repressed…

Lol, seems like quality control at 13th Planet is super-duper top notch… [crazy]

Wasn’t it announced that there was a misprint and the last track was left off the cd? somebody had a link to the song up a week or 2 if i remember right…

On the back of the CD the left column of songs is supposed to be read in its entirety before the right column.

In all fairness it looks like a crappy punk bands demo cd.

Al is 50 now, right.

Yeah. I found the link dicking around 13 Planet’s website.

Also, it looks to me like the back cover’s tracklisting wasn’t intended to be in the correct order.

51 maybe. I think his birthday is the same as my anniversary which was 2 days ago.

Congrats, dude.

I got my copy of the CD in the mail today, and when you put it in the computer iTunes reads it as “The Last Dubber (the defective first issue)”
Haw.

I noticed that too! Makes me wonder if they sold enough to come out with a repress. Probably not, I bet! although, I gotta say I like the last Dubber and it’s been in my cd player for quite a time now.

Man these must be selling extremely well. They had all the remix albums at the Revco show for $5 each.

I didn’t get any. But I did pick up Stayte’s 2007 EP. I dig.

That reminds me, has anyone who’s been to one of these RevCo shows asked Josh or Clayton if the new Stayte album is ever coming out?

i’ve heard that there is an album’s worth of stayte material done, possibly even recorded, but 13th planet is sitting on it atm. i assume so they don’t detract any attention from the current RamCo push.

we’ve discussed this on here once before though, i think?

Oh, it’s done. There was a preview track on the 13th Planet downloadable sampler from a few months ago, and they’ve released the cover art.
I just wanted to know if there were any updates on a release date.

I was talking to Sin and Murv before and after the Seattle date. Saw Clayton but didn’t talk to him. Also ran into Aaron at Burger King, but I didn’t see Josh anywhere.

Sin came out before the show with some girl to the merch booth, which I found highly entertaining. I was imagining himpointing shit out to her to buy bragging about how great he is on it. That probably wasn’t the case but it amused me nonetheless. Saw Clayton standing around watching some of Blownload’s set, but sadly didn’t see Josh anywhere.

Was Blownload awful or was it just me?

TERRIBLE. Their singer could not annoy me more.

How was Left Spine Down? I missed them. Saw a guy in the crowd who sort of looked like Tom Savini at first, then it hit me. He looked EXACTLY like Brian O’Halloran. I took a stealth pic of him on my friend’s phone. I’ll post it if you can see him good in it with the lighting.

Brian O’Halloran.

I’ve always thought this dude looked gay (as if there is a look for being gay with out being flaming) which is amusing to me cause KSmith always has him hooking up with two chicks! (unless of couse he’s just doing a “Hicks Family member” cameo)
