Good day and stuff (modest request)

Good day. Long time Ministry fan and all that good stuff.

Anyhow, I noticed on the tour info page that a recording does exist somewhere of the Portland, Oregon stop on the Dark Side of the Spoon tour.

Having no cd burner, and a computer that sucks for downloading stuff, if someone were to burn this show onto a cd and send it to me, I would be eternally grateful and can offer up couple of cds in trade; I like my collection, so I don’t have a large trade list; I recently snagged the first Hate Eternal cd and Noisebox’s Nuffnutz out of the cheapo bin as they seemed to be good tradebait. I would happily trade either or both of these for a cdr copy of that Ministry show. P.S. If someone could hook me up but isn’t interested in those discs, I would be more than happy to kick in a few dollars for materials + effort in addition to shipping and handling.

I’m really not fussed over recording quality; obviously, quality would be nice, but as I’m a huge fan, and that was the only time I’ve managed to catch the band live, a recording of that show would be quite the nostalgic delight.

Salutations, and good evening.

bold request.

hmm…I don’t have it, but it makes me wonder if a good quality bootleg of Nursing Home exists…love that track wayyy too much

Yeah, I’d love to hear a live version of that one. Even though I was pretty stoked on the Psalm 69-centric setlist, I wouldn’t have minded more Dark Side songs. Nursing Home would have been great.

The only song we got at that show that doesn’t make its way into many other setlists was Eureka Pile. Thought it was a cool tune before, but it went over huge and instantly turned into one of my favorite songs of theirs. Really is a shame that it didn’t become a standard part of their live show.

Maybe this is just my faded memory, but I do believe I have Nursing Home live somewhere, I’d have to check on my other computer to be sure but eh, sounds familiar.

I have the Portland show. Feel free to email me, and we’ll discuss.

The only recording of Nursing Home live that I know of is the Boston Dark Side show, which I’ve struck out on finding. If anyone has a copy, please let me know.

I was always wondering…what’s the deal with the Dark Side demos? Huge differences? minor differences? Poor quality? Tracks that never made it to the final album?
I wonder what the tracks from 97 sounded like…hm…

what’s the deal with the Dark Side demos?

not much, it’s almost the same as the album. very minor differences (like warp city and warp city alt mix)

Took me a while to get that show, actually. Someone recorded it in Portland, then sold it to a local indie shop that no longer sells live recordings (which is… well, not legal, so good thing they stopped).

The CD I have that was sent to me has 2-second gaps on it… I need to correct that, when I get the chance. It doesn’t contain “Nursing Home”, though it does contain the very awesome “Eureka Pile”.
Sound is pretty much the same as most of the recordings me and bisquitodoom have from 2003, B+ to B-… listenable, but not soundboard in the least.

Easiest way to make live and/or gapless CDs I know of is:

  1. Rip it with Exact Audio Copy
  2. Install foobar2000 and Nero if you don’t have them already.
  3. Load the Gapkiller DSP into foobar and set the Diskwriter output to the Nero plugin. (make sure to check the box to use the DSPs when using the Diskwriter)
  4. Load up the wavs into a playlist and highlight them all, Right Click and select the diskwriter. It will create a CD sized image file that Nero can burn as a gapless audio CD. Otherwise Nero ALWAYS bitches about having to have two second gaps on audio CDs.[mad]
