i just came in my pants.
Ha dorky press photo! I’ll definitely check out the Irving Plaza show. Too bad Prurient’s not opening for them there…kind of odd considering he’s NYC-based…I’m assuming they’ll grab someone. Hopefully they get Sightings to open!
Fuck off!
When are you going to tour down under, Snodrick?
[laugh]
No words. I am unbelievably happy right now. Perfect cap to an otherwise lousy day. Doubly excited to see Dominick Fernow (Prurient) again. I’ll be at the Fonda show.
Yeah, can’t wait. Going to be a good show.

I’m flying up for the NY show…meeting up with some friends there…gonna try and hit up Philly also…
That press photo looks just like every single one they have ever had…they are just older now…
I’ve heard from a few sources that Prurient are opening all the shows…not sure why they aren’t listed on all of them…

Prurient lives in LA now.
I will still never forget seeing Godflesh in Lawrence, KS back in 1996. I went on a Monday night hoping to see a good show. It was so rare that anything good stops by the plains states, so I stopped in.
What I saw still remains the most brutal live show I have ever attended. They were a 3 piece but the power and energy was amazing. I was absolutely blown away by Broadrick’s guitar work. A lot of sounds I thought were samples or loops on the albums ended up being his own work.
If you have the chance, attend the show. You will NOT be disappointed.

Yeah, they are incredible live…I saw them most recently at Deathfest in Maryland and they were fucking nuclear…just heavy…Benny had the low-end going and JKB sounded as good as ever and was adding all sorts of guitar and effect dynamics…I can’t wait for October…
I’m not a big Godflesh fan but I saw them a month ago and they were great. Lots of energy, the sound was great. It was in a small venue that wasn´t even full but the ones who attended were hardcore fans so the atmosphere was great.
I haven’t listened to Godflesh (no particular reason why, never got around to it) but decided to buy tickets for the LA show. Debating whether I should listen to anything before the show, there is something fun about not knowing the material beforehand.

Nah,dude…go listen to them…it will enrich your life for the 4 months leading up to the show…

It’s very atmospheric, but not exactly clouds, whispy dreams and rainbows. It’s more of someone stumbling on a long abandoned S&M dungeon and the soundtrack that goes with trying to visualize/comprehend what happened there long ago.
At leasts that’s what I got from Slavestate, the only album I own or have heard by Godflesh.
Late,

yeah i would listen to Streetcleaner a few times first. it’s not gonna ruin anything for you, amp you up for the show if anything.
With Godflesh you get the conveyance of the desolation and oppressiveness of the industrial back drop of the slums of Birmingham…yet, the whole “industrial” tag never fit their music…they are to many organic elements and plenty of psychedelia as well…there is a dub aesthetic at work through the use of repetition in some of their more beat-based work and that is combined with a sprawling use of vocals and guitars that are drenched in effects and feedback…unrelenting and brutal yet spacious and hallucinogenic…
I think I saw that they’ve added an Austin TX show. I’d go to that!!!

Yes because your description is not only based on one album in their catalogue, but the term “atmospheric” really sums them up to a “T”!!
You’d think they are a darker version of Sigur Ros based on your description…
